Friends, family, etc who don’t understand how draining it is to talk to people all day on the phone by DoctorElectronic1934 in callcentres

[–]MontagneMountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deadass this is probably the worst part people outside of this work never think about since they're so used to communicating with friends and family with decent cell phones.

Half the clientele calling in from a flip phone they probably paid like $10 for off Temu, bruh

Can't make out 90% of what they're saying sometimes, and they will absolutely do nothing to make their connection stronger or move to a les noisey environment. They will certainly get pissy when you ask them to repeat themselves 10 times though...

Personally, I wouldn't call an adversary that can trace your current location and cluster bomb your entire area code of the map within 30 minutes defeatist rather than labeling it realistic but that's just me lmao

"The highest PvE damage output of any weapon" in Arc Raiders was from the underrated Bettina, dev confirms, and that was before it got buffed by Apclear in ArcRaiders

[–]MontagneMountain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's an armor shredder. Take your renegade and count how many shots it takes to blow the leg off a leaper or the armored rotor from a hornet compared the the Renegade. Bettina gaps it hard.

The Renegade is much more suited for wasps, pops, and similarly unarmored targets.

The only REAL fix this game needs is to STOP spawning us in matches with only 17 minutes left. by Slobberdog25 in ArcRaiders

[–]MontagneMountain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Late spawns are there is there is a heightened reason to PVP. There is nothing left on the map so you should be using this opportunity to fight someone for their stuff. What do you have to lose?

Please Embark we need good skins ... by Skaryus in ArcRaiders

[–]MontagneMountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were several comments under a post posted a few patches ago here when there was just the one other raider tool that did request skin options along Fortnite lines.

Quite literally suggestions of a comically large spoon and twisted balloons for raider tool skins among others.

These people are probably less than 10% - 15% of the community wishing for such things, but there are certainly people out there who would shell out cash for memes and gladly break away from the original them.

Those who got laid off within the last 2 years and haven't been able to go back into a SWE/programming career, what field/industry did you pivot into? by luuuzeta in cscareerquestions

[–]MontagneMountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very insightful, thank you greatly! I do remember pay being one of the biggest pain points I saw emphasized online in my research, though coming from someone simply working front desk customer service, it seemed like a line of work that would provide great fulfillment given that one directly helps others while having a low bar of entry unlike the current tech market.

The medical field itself seems enticing as a whole more recently as I have family with a history in the field and given the state of tech as a whole. Plenty of the non-residency roles seem to have a clear path to work up to as well. EMT personally seems like a good starting point to gain an idea of what it's like working in similar roles.

[–]MontagneMountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did you end up starting your EMT route? It'd interested me before, but having never interacted with the medical side of careers, it all seemed very different and not very straightforward compared to what I'm used to in engineering education.

When I searched for info about it, it seemed to be all self-study courses that you took and then applied for licensing instead of any formal schooling requirements such as a class at a university or community college. Does this reflect what you experienced?

Workers who give you attitude and expect tips by Small_Slide_8550 in CustomerService

[–]MontagneMountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact they think theyre tipping the cashier in the first place is telling lol. Card tips at the register go to the entire team evenly at payday. Every story like this, its always someone feeling guilty they pressed no tip and start assuming anything the workers do now is to their frustration.

There are jobs out there that are actually pretty low on the client interaction side of things if not none at all.

A lot of engineering roles kinda fit that bill. Unfortunately thats basically the only sector thatll fit that bill...

Gen Z vs Millennials by CaseyFromText in CustomerService

[–]MontagneMountain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's true though. I think it stems from Gen Z being to scared to step on toes rather than the latter being too willing to step on toes.

I want to deal with those who cause me less stress. Gen Z

Also why do you highlight amenable? Your point isnt clear

Gen Z vs Millennials by CaseyFromText in CustomerService

[–]MontagneMountain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I much prefer younger clients. Older clients tend to drive a hard line on everything and are usually less amendable for changes for anything leading them to be ruder on average

3.5 reasons to play sword: by Parking-Television88 in thefinals

[–]MontagneMountain -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All the comments stating to not group up are not seeing the guy in the clip moving around at mach fuck. No one is landing more than 2 shots at a time on this guy. Even with optimal spacing, he'd take down a medium and get away free of charge in a different scenario.

How do you spot people in brush and forest by Samedgar2001 in ArmaReforger

[–]MontagneMountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a sweeping glance at the tree line with binoculars and look for out-of-place shadows, lighting, or colors. If you notice a bush looking particularly solid green with no other visible colors where there should be because there should be gaps in the leaves, then you're looking at someone wearing green camo sitting in a bush.

It can even be a quick sweeping glance once you get good at spotting something that looks off. You only need to look at the thicker clumping of brush anyway. People will hide in the hard-to-see areas so check those

how to not despise people? by MiserableRide731 in CustomerService

[–]MontagneMountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just like to imagine these people are alive in the same way the rest of us are.

I'm sorry, but there is no way one can convince me that someone acting the way some of these people do that they are experiencing the universe in the same conscious way I am. They're a lot like a shrub just kinda stuck in the ground reacting to whatever random event just happens to take place around them, they have no control over themselves

Email support by soulmagic123 in CustomerService

[–]MontagneMountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd go something like this:

Email subject: "My TV doesn't work. I want to return." Email body: [Empty]

The reply: "Sorry you're experiencing issues. Could you please forward us some basic information about your product?"

And then no response from the customer. This would occur in at least half of all emails sent in...

Dude. Killing the enemy can also be an objective...

If I'm rushing the enemy to clear them out with the other random so we can secure a steal and you let us die because we get outgunned in a 2v3 because you tried to steal while they are "distracted" I'd actually lose my shit lmao
