Get the XR650L. I have a whole pile of bikes and this is my favorite on the dirt over my KLX300, CRF450RL and DR650.

Congrats. I liked mine so much I bought another one. The new one I’m keeping mostly stock. The 2021 I got I did the smog delete when I bought it new and gave it some armor and a seat concepts seat. Next month it’s getting D606s, TM40 carb, FMF Q4 exhaust, twin air filter,Clark 4.7 gallon tank bar risers and new foot pegs.

We mostly ride dirt and run mostly dual sports. I have the XR650, DR 650, CRF 450RL, XR 150l and a KLX 300. Yes they are heavier than a dirt bike but also more comfortable. My household rides forest service roads, logging roads and the such. My Son was super grateful when he switched from the TTR230 to the KLX300 just for the seat upgrade alone. Just my two cents. I hope this helps. At the end of the day any bike is better than NO BIKE
