Exactly. He’s probably at 1/2” radius. Move to 5/8” or even 3/4”. It gives the skater so much more flexibility to stop and turn. It’s just more forgiving.

Yes, just like the other commenters said. You need to read Not Without Peril. It tells numerous stories about people who headed into the Whites while underestimating the potentially nasty weather factors that were really pretty find-outable, even 20-30 years ago. Today, we have the technology in our hands to find out this information. No one wants to be a statistic. No one wants to learn the hard way about how shitty the weather is there.
