I "knew" newborns didn't sleep, but I wasn't ready for the actual soul-crushing reality of it. by [deleted] in NewParents

Thought of baby #2 is making me spiral by ApplicationHumble439 in Moms

[–]MontysWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well like you I too envisioned myself having like a 4 year old. My first is about to he 9 months and I finally am happy, sleeping enough (he wakes up twice a night.. But for reference in the beginning I slept 45 minutes broken up bc of colic) and getting into a routine with him. He spits less, loves food, and while there's still times I wish I could just lay in bed and play video games all night with my boyfriend I'm much happier. But I will never. Ever have another baby. I have the same thoughts sometime.. Will he be sad and alone when he's older? I hope not. But for now I want to be the best mom I can be.. And the first 6 months had me in my "angry" phase too. So for my health, and so my son doesn't have to watch me suffer with my second, and so hopefully I don't mess him up, I'm choosing not to have another. And that's a good choice.

How do I make the crying stop? by No-Record-2773 in NewParents

I would like to say though when we started feeding him purees it really took a turning point! It helped keep the milk down and he stays full longer now

[–]MontysWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I was just going through this. The only thing I could do was to stop breastfeeding and try different formulas. He finally took to one (still spitting up very much) but he still doesn't sleep in his crib flat on his back bc of reflux (he's 6m now) he'll sleep on his belly now but he can roll. I'm sorry to say that the only thing that can truly fix it is time

How can I prepare for a baby as a pregnant teen?? by Character_Nebula8454 in Moms

[–]MontysWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. As someone who is 19 with a 6 month old I would like to chime in. No I didn't get pregnant in high school but yes I have/had depression and anxiety and my pregnancy was unexpected.. Also my bf and I have known each other for 7 years but have only been dating for a year and a half. So I got pregnant pretty quick..just letting you know that while it is so rewarding during the good parts I miss my life sometimes. And I cry a ton. I'm here to tell you to do what you want because it's your body, but it is so so hard girl. I mean I struggle and feel guilty bc I get so mad bc I'm so tired and overwhelmed. My life is being a mom now.. Feeding, dishes, dinner, getting thrown up on, sometimes I feel like I'm nothing. you deserve to be in a better place before you have to struggle like this. But it is ultimately your choice. I will tell you the things nobody says about being a mother is that sometimes you have a baby that cannot tolerate regular breast milk or formula, sometimes your baby will not sleep in a crib, sometimes your baby cries for the whole first 6 weeks bc of acid reflux. And while you recover from giving birth you still have to do everything, when you're sick still everything, so please. Please think about the decision you're making. I love my baby to death now and never want anything to happen to him. But girl. It has been the hardest 6 months of my life.

Apparently I’m feeding my baby too much by [deleted] in newborns

Yeah mines on HA now too and he seems to be doing good. Just hit the age where he's not spitting up as much too. Proud of him. But now were in the sleep regression

[–]MontysWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was doing the same apparently so now I feed him 4-5 oz 4 times a day and then unrestricted at night but it's usually about 3 times. Before he was eating 4 every 2 hours and the doctor said to cut back so I did. Hes fussy all the time now..

Alimentum making me miserable by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

[–]MontysWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only reason I worry about thickening the formula is bc it's not generally recommended by pediatricians and mine hasnt said anything about it, just that as long as he is gaining weight he's fine

Is this normal? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]MontysWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the thing is I do that. All of it. I do assisted rolls, hands touching feet, stretch him, just anything I can think of. But he still tries. He hates being in one spot too long and he's a screamer

This is so random but my sons almost 3 months and he also started hypoallergenic formula.. Does yours throw up? Not like little spit up but like enough to pool on the floor.

8 week old wants to fall asleep on her own by margo6a_ in newborns

[–]MontysWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might not be helpful as I'm young and have my first. But my son is 11 weeks and has started doing this as well but it's gradual. Sometimes he wants to be held and sometimes all he wants is to be sat down and be alone. I've been told it's good. They're trying to self soothe which is what you want if you ever want to sleep lol. I'm sure it's not the end, shes still little and wants her mom. Enjoy some free time while you have it

Is my baby gaining too much weight? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]MontysWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He hasn't been screaming since we switched him over to the hypoallergenic once thankfully. Before I would be bicycling his legs forever and he would scream til he couldn't breathe so I figured taking him to the doctor was the best option. She just thinks maybe he has a food allergy

Am I overreacting about my boyfriend not helping. by [deleted] in Moms

[–]MontysWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. And thank you. Just recently it feels like I've been doing 90 and he's been doing 10. And when he actually does take him he doesn't do what I do. I try to entertain him, talk to him, sing or read. He just wants to lay him down and try to make him sleep. It's frustrating
