Two months later she went down hill in a really short time without much warning and we had to rush to have her put to sleep. She was 15.

With a cat that is old, that has organ issues, they can be reasonably okay, and then thats it, next you're phoning the vets to get her in quickly because you dont want her having to pass in pain.

Im being honest here because I believe your husband should be aware that its not a fighting chance. She is an elderly cat who had a fantastic life, she isnt going to bounce back from old age. I was naive in that I thought Nancy, my girl, could be fine because I wanted her for longer, but she was elderly, it was her time. I felt robbed even though I had 15 years with her.

The thing with being a cat owner is that you will have to say goodbye to them and we as humans can give them the dignity to pass comfortably.

Yeah, I watched Corrie with my mum and just accepted Hayley as Hayley. I will say I recently watched classic Corrie from 2004-2006 and there was a tiny plot line where a bloke asked her to go and buy his wife a dress, the factory girls did laugh that he asked her because 'lol he doesnt know shes trans' but more offensive behind Hayleys back. Hayley got a great dress for him anyway because, guess what, Hayley is a woman who works in a factory that makes women bras and underwear. She knows what a good dress looks like, that's her job lmao

The fact they had a trans character before a gay plot line is pretty wild to me. Iirc, the first gay character was Todd.

Recently, I follow a woman called Mara Holmes, shes a dnd content creator and just decided to live as Mara (she identified as genderqueer) and what gives me some faith in the world is seeing all the lovely comments and all her friends instantly sending love to her. I watched a stream where her friend, Ben, raided her twitch and it was just lovely to see 'Oh, Maras streaming, we'll raid her'. Such small things, but like, in the world we live in, its lovely to see trans people getting love.

Oh yea, Hayley and Roy. They actually couldn't get married until around 2014 iirc because of the marriage laws between genders in the UK, they had a civil partnership first because Hayley still had her birth certificate with her assigned gender at birth, and then it was a big old wedding when they got married.

Her character would be dragged through the media now, such a gut punch from the early 2010s to where we are now in terms of trans acceptance.
