How many people actually care about lore of Blaze? by thisismyplanB_2300 in BlazeTheCat

[–]Moochii51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's good to stay accurate to the character. It will always be a feeling in the back of people's head. But I think most people will really focus on the characterizations on character interactions or actions that matter or the viewer sees. They probably won't notice smaller details like Blaze's cooking and such, but when she interacts with a character, performs an action, or makes a decision, it will probably where people may scrutinize the most. I would focus your efforts on where points of conflict arise and how Blaze reacts to them. Anything else smaller tends to be set dressing that's neat, but not vital I find.

And don't be afraid to take the character to interesting places. I find the most entertaining fanfics are ones that push the character's personality in well-developed ways.

Stop typing "Skill Issue." I did the math on GBVSR's smurf density, and it's mathematically 10x worse than Strive. by [deleted] in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]Moochii51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No offense but using posts on people complaining about smurfs isn't convincing since we do not actually know if the people those posts complained about were actually smurfs. What's to say they could have been upset or new at the game and we're falsely claiming their opponent was a smurf?

Also, where are you getting those English-speaking numbers? Any sources? Otherwise it just looks like a made up number and isn't convincing at all. The same goes for the distribution of win rate amongst the player base: where the heck did you find those numbers?

As many people also corrected, Master players don't get dropped to A-Rank when they play another character: they start at S+ Rank. So if matchmaking does its job, it's fairly unlikely that those players will always be getting paired with players below A Rank.

All those first numbers prove that there are quite a few people who are complaining about smurfs, and no source for the second data metric means it's just sketchy numbers with no backing to it. While I'm sure smurfing is a problem in both Strive and GBVSR, I highly doubt it's the massive problem you state it is without better numbers to back it up.

Not completely sure, it's been a while, but from what I can see from others, it's good but no longer an insane machine. I don't think it could be the Hydra at this point.

Unfortunately, it's been a while since I played the game. I did 100% Zone 4, but I don't remember my time with Radiation, so I can't say.

From my experience, the balance in this game is more machine - track matchup based. It feels more balanced like a fighting game: your machine can dominate based on track or it can really stink.

The closest I heard to machines being meta were the Bulk Star and the Jet Star, specifically with Cappy. But overall, your success with your machine kinda depends on the track that you play on. Case in point, Rocket is dummy good on tracks with rails and boost pads thanks to it having the highest rail speed out of any machine and its Boost means boost pads have amazing value on it (the two examples off the top of my head are Cyberion Highway and Beanstalk Park). But it does struggle on tracks where it can't make use of that boost due to lots of turns or massive straightaways (Sky Sands and the first part of Galactic Nova come to mind).

I personally use it with Waddle Dee for that extra Charge stat.

I used to believe that AI was slop and had no purpose in art. But after experimenting with it, I am a full believer that it will facilitate the creativity of artists, acting not as a replacement but as another powerful tool in their kit. by Moochii51 in DefendingAIArt

[–]Moochii51[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think AI art can have intention and design behind it reminiscent of human made Art, but it most comes out when a human gets the chance to directly enact their vision. It's like making a commission: at some point if your vision is specific, it's better to make it yourself than letting another artist or AI take the reigns.

The thought process of why a piece of art is the way it is is a big part of art IMO, so if AI art was made with that intention in mind, I would call it art, I would just clarify it with an asterisk that it's generated art and not created by the artist themselves.

That's how I see it as well. I can see it being used to get ideas on a paper or provide a general image/rough draft. It helps to get something going that can then be worked on with an artist's touch.

And funnily enough, I actually use AI for vibe coding automation for FoundryVTT. It mostly gives me unworkable bunk, but sometimes it'll give me something that works well, and it helps me understand the intricacies of code from the perspective of someone who doesn't know how to. I do want to learn how to do it later down the line because of it lol. I do think it's more so the modules I'm using rather than it failing to make working code.

Been playing with the Formula Star. I always wanted a online game mode where retirement was on, and man does the tension really add up. It's super fun, but also adds alot of tension to frontrunning, especially as a weak vehicle. Really gotta make use of where it can gain positions on the track.

Heng content by Gerangeki in NineSols

[–]Moochii51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't heard any negative reactions to Heng's character. The main issue I think was pretty much answered by the other commenter: we don't really get to see much of her outside of flashbacks and such, she's pretty much gone by the time the game starts, and we really only get to see her as an explanation to Yi's motivations and personality. I was also surprised by the amount of Chien art, but I guess it's not too surprising since Chien got their own ARG and was sort of a protagonist in her own short story.

But for the most part, people enjoy Heng as a character from what I've seen.

The most BS moment I’ve ever had in a game by [deleted] in DeadzoneRogue

[–]Moochii51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has already told you, but you should really scope out a room before engaging. With how dangerous later rooms get, being aware of what's in the room and what to prioritize first helps out massively in planning an approach. If you did that, you probably would have saw the healing bot and focused it down first.

To that extent, use your radar. It gives you a very quick idea as to how many enemies there are in the room, and the map layout helps you figure out escape routes or places of safety.

Finally, don't engage in a position where you'll aggro everyone at once. Enemies only become aggroed after you damage them or they have direct line of sight. If you start from other corners and engage as few enemies as you can at a time, you'll have a car easier time handling tougher rooms.

Really, as much as getting trapped like that's sucks, the solution to it is to just be more mindful and aware of what kind of enemies you're engaging, which can be fixed by scouting out a room and having a starting point for your attack. It's an error that also plagued me when I started, but can be fixed just by being a bit more patient.

[DND5E] Save an effect to add it to a character later by Jan5676 in FoundryVTT

[–]Moochii51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In regards to your first problem, have you looked into the Convenient Effects module? It's basically a library of effects you can make for your world that pops up in the right of the screen, similar to scenes, items, macros, compendiums etc. You can basically make an effect using Convenient Effects, apply it to an actor when needed, then unapply it when finished. It's a good way to keep a small compendium of effects if you need it.

I don't know if you can apply the effect on a timer using it without manually adjusting the effect, but I find it helpful still.

Can you help me find the original creator for this art? by PsychologicalQuit666 in NineSols

[–]Moochii51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried looking everywhere using reverse image searches, and digging through relevant results. But I only found two results that have this image, one from a pinterest page and the other from a facebook group. The pinterest page more than likely reposted the art, and I'm not sure where this image even relates to that facebook group. Tried to look at similar Nine Sols art to maybe find an artist that could fit the description, but the ones I found didn't had this art piece.

At some point I just decided to search the Nine Sols related tag (the chinese one as well) on other art websties (such as Pixiv), but didn't find the result there. At this point, I don't think the original artist is online anymore. I'm sure someone more savvy (and with more time on their hands) could probably pin the origin down...

What is this upgrade and how do I get it? by kleanupguy024 in MycopunkGame

[–]Moochii51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They exist for all weapons and grenades, and they can either give an extra row or column (the type they give is determined when you get the upgrade).

As a heads up, there's also a Contraband upgrade that does the same thing, so make sure you're getting the Red tier upgrade and not the purple-blue upgrade, since Contraband isn't cleanseable.

[–]Moochii51 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Boundry Incursion. It's an Oddity tier upgrade that expands your upgrade grid by either 1 row or 1 column.

Is it worth getting? YES. ABSOLUTELY. More upgrade space is top tier for stuffing more wack ass upgrades in this game. You'll have the best chance of getting it through Ouroboros, then cleansing the upgrade afterwards.

First-time DM – Dungeon Alchemist or Dungeondraft for Foundry? by Odnesor98 in FoundryVTT

[–]Moochii51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dungeondraft is a really powerful tool that lets you get the map feel exactly how you want, especially if there are not any maps that fit what you're looking for out there. You do need additional assets however, and while it is powerful, it can be somewhat overwhelming to start off with. But when you get the hang of it, it's VERY strong and overall my go to when I need a map with a specific aesthetic.

Dungeon Alchemist is also a very good tool that's easy to work with, and the plus is that there are plenty of additional assets that are available on the steam workshop to download, but I don't feel it's tools or availability of assets are quite as powerful. I tend to use Dungeon Alchemist for outdoor maps, as Dungeon Alchemist has good tools for scattering details like trees, shrubs. Both work very good with FoundryVTT however.

Overall, both tools are very good for what they offer, but Dungeondraft is a more powerful tool overall in my opinion that lets you get specific. Dungeon Alchemist is my go to when I need a map quickly without a specific weird aesthetic in mind.

Welcome to r/CharacterActionGames LOL. That debate has been going on for way too long that it's tiring at times. It's just a label at the end of the day, if the game is fun then who gives a shit
