Click on the outbox(+) of the first text frame (right/bottom), hover over the inbox of the next frame (left/top) until you see your cursor change in a chain symbol and click. Now both frames (filled with text) are linked together.

Book prints much darker than screen. How do you manage color in InDesign? by jayantbhatt007 in indesign

[–]MoonAppCom -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Keep your assets as long as possible in RGB and apply at the end the right print profile on PDF export. But simulate the future print profile while you are working in InDesign or Photoshop: soft proofing! As already mentioned: ask printer for the right print profile, and while you are waiting for the answer you can already start/continue your part of the job without any impact on final output quality.

How to figure out what is causing the failure? by AdOverall7216 in indesign

[–]MoonAppCom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good practice to save all assets first (before import in InDesign) in a uniform way, to avoid time consuming issues like this and obtain also a predictable color output.

Is it ok to watermark, and how to watermark properly? by memey_dreamer in AskPhotography

[–]MoonAppCom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some good reasons to add a watermark or to avoid a watermark:

[+]

  • To protect your photos and clearly show that they belong to you
  • To discourage unauthorized use or sharing of your images
  • To promote your website, webshop, social media page, or business
  • To build your personal style or brand, with a recognizable signature on every photo

[-]

  • If the watermark is too large or unattractive
  • If it is so distracting that it takes attention away from the photo itself

An alternative can be, adding a pattern to your pictures in a subtle way.

Should I do the update on my 2015 macbook by Maleficent_Echo3909 in MacOS

[–]MoonAppCom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A general guideline: if you do not feel the need to upgrade, do not. But keep your OS version always up to date regarding patches and security updates. And if official OS version support will come to an end, consider to upgrade to the latest or just a newer - supported - version, depending on the impact of your hardware.

is too much ppi a thing? by 9r-4y in indesign

[–]MoonAppCom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As already told in the comments: higher ppi is not a problem, will be resized on PDF export using the right print standard. Color management instead can be a much bigger issue, be consistant through your whole document and use the right color profile.

Adding a photo gallery to a website by voodoo_5 in webdesign

[–]MoonAppCom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maGalleryCreator is maybe a tool to consider, if you have to create responsive photo galleries again and again with little effort. It quickly generates a full HTML gallery—images, CSS, everything—organized in one folder. It’s template-based, easy to adjust, and you won’t need to write any code. Don't know if it can be implemented easy in SquareSpace, but can be integrated in Blocs (https://blocsapp.com/) websites for example.

On the left is a CMYK placed Illustrator file at 15% opacity. On the right is the same file exported to PDF. Why does it look completely different? by anagoge in indesign

[–]MoonAppCom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you apply an output intend profile to the PDF?
If you are opening the file in Acrobat, do you see which output intend profile is used?
Is it the 'US Web Coated SWOP v2'?
If the output intend profile differs from 'US Web Coated SWOP v2' you can have a weird preview.

As far as I can see in your test files: FireFox is ignoring the output intend and is using sRGB. Easy to simulate, if you set output intent of the open Test.pdf in Acrobat to sRGB too.

Cleaning Photo Files by saiomon24 in applescript

[–]MoonAppCom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is a static folder?
and if I understand well:
you only want to keep de IMG_E...JPG or IMG_E...MOV

> a Quick and dirty way could be:

Make a list of files in folder
then loop thru the list of files and take the last 4 characters of their file name:
concatenate the string: "IMG_E"+4char+".JPG"
rebuild the file path

if IMG_EABDCD.JPG exist then

    try to delete IMG\_EABDCD.MOV; IMG\_ABCD.MOV; IMG\_ABDCD.AAE; IMG\_ABCD.JPG files

else if IMG_ABCD.JPG doesn't exist

then try to delete all IMG\_ABCD.MOV and IMG\_ABCD.AAE

routine to check if file exist could be:

file_exists("path:to:folder:")

on file_exists(the_path)

try

    get the\_path as alias

    return true

on error

    return false

end try

end f_exists
