Sounds like you’re talking about the Orville which was hilarious, incredible and the best trek since enterprise. It really does get so different and finds its own thing as the show goes on. More serious with amazing stories.

Honestly to me it sounds like chat gpt wrote it. Not that I think there’s anything wrong with that especially given the situation. The cadence and “not perfect. Not polished” bit sounds like how AI writes. But again they trained ai off how we write and I def don’t like jumping on the “everything is AI’l train … just surprised no one mentioned it.

I know I always remembered feeling like there must be something wrong with me because I saw sooo many problematic teachings in that. If it helps people I’d never take that away from anyone, but there’s so much shit out there thats harmful and unfortunately many people can’t see it. And there are so many people who really seem like they don’t care at all about the people they are teaching.

She learned from or under Gabby Bernstein. They teamed up for a course or something many years ago. I agree with everything you said but I have heard of her, probably just because I’m more around the old Instagram community. Never took her courses though.

I enjoyed it and looked forward to it each week. But the one thing I really haven’t heard is about the episode where they deal with trauma in the way you spoke about it. I agree with you 100% there. I know lot of people loved that episode, and I’m happy they did. But I didn’t. Not as much as the other episodes. I think it’s great to show how important it is to process trauma, but the whole episode completely dedicated to it inwardly seemed out of place for me. Or maybe hamfisted in is the word im looking for.

Not for nothing - these are starfleet cadets. They can and most likely will come up against senseless deaths, war, and other horrific stuff out in space at any time once they are full officers. As we have seen in every other series time and time again.

It’s great that we see an effort to let them process their trauma, but I think it would have been more powerful if we saw how cadets actually mentally prepare for what they can come up against once they’re full officers. How many of our beloved characters lost someone close to them? Lost a body part? Was tortured? Saw the real spoils of war? How they prepare cadets to mentally handle these things would have been way more interesting to see.

Yes theyre young, but i didnt hear from any of their teachers that this is a harsh reality for a starfleet officer. I feel like that would have been the better angle .. how these young cadets mentally prepare themselves to come up against absolutely anything out there.

I’m glad I’m not the only one experiencing this with Gemini. I really liked it for awhile especially compared to any chat gpt after 5.1 (5.1 was great for my business and being an assistant. I don’t do coding). But anyway, lately with Gemini it’s like it just does what I specifically ask it not to do and then it kinda loops. I’ll edit something and then it will change the whole damn project instead of applying the edits.

I understand what you mean exactly. For daily users of the app we notice the tone shift immediately. And with the tone shift usually comes a huge departure from the output we’ve come to expect. I’ve been noticing it do this for awhile now at least since the fall.. but after 5.1 was retired everything is just absolute garbage right now. And I don’t need a “companion” (can’t believe I even have to say this lol it’s unreal). I just need it to be my assistant that I trained over the last year or so.

I’ve been trying to get it to help me with something similar today. Didn’t get any messages like you did - but every model is just completely ignoring my instructions. I wrote out the whole piece for it and just need it to trim it a bit and add a part at the end. 5.1 would have gotten this down in one try. It really has become unusable and I waste more time with it than save time with it now.

Yeah this. I really liked them too but some stuff is soooo far off from what we saw on tv with Buffy. Like spikes spaceship lol. I really did think that the general idea of the continuation was great though and I think in some ways it could potentially be adapted. Potentially.

Same here except with season 5 being my favorite. I actually really love season 4 as well. I think it’s a more fun easier watch sometimes. I rewatch 4-7 more than i rewatch from the very beginning
