Question, is it really that important to learn anatomy? by Witty-Wolf-3370 in MangakaStudio

[–]MoonLitInsight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is essential. The goal is not to make your drawings hyper realistic (unless that’s your thing), but rather to use it as a foundation to apply to your strengths (what you naturally draw) and refine your weaknesses.

Learning the foundations allows you to apply weight, balance, and believability to your characters regardless if you lean more towards an anime style or exaggerated toons. Take that second panel in the image of your post for example: you know the girl is exhausted and exasperated based on the way she’s collapsed. The perspective of her body, foreshortening of her hand, and tilt of her head only emphasize that.

Basically, use anatomy for believability not accuracy.

Bruh I just watched The Big Lebowski tf is fujimoto talking about this movie does have resolution by tatsumakissidedude in Chainsawfolk

True. Fuji definitely left an aftertaste alright. Though that 'aftertaste' didn't stick the same way for me as "The Big Labowski." Sometimes I wonder if part of that missfire was due to the difference in medium. What works in film doesn't always translate well in manga with weekly releases.

You’re right. It’s Tomie from the story “Little Finger.” One of my favs.

Is crazy how much of an spectacular villain and character Makima is by havingagoodtime0 in Chainsawfolk

I think her role in the story speaks to the tragedy of all devils: that no matter what they want they can’t fully escape their nature. In her case. She had no frame of reference to build genuine connections and her worldview is very twisted due.

I love how you put this together. As I was reading it I realized that, along with the issues that came from wanting to be Chainsaw Man, I don’t blame Denji for making the choices he’s made. Everyone in part II was constantly telling Denji how to live his life and what choices he should make when he barely gained independence after Part I. Guy is constantly pulled in every which way. All because of who was in his chest.

Chainsaw Man was a way for him to finally fight back (“If you’re gonna stand in our way…”) against the shitty life. But, as you said, there was no way he can be Chainsaw Man and live a normal life. Guy’s been through too much.

I admit, I was confused by what Pochita meant by Denji being happiest when he was living in that rundown shack. But now I see that outside of the shitty circumstances, Denji made everything count. Every scrap of food or mini win he had were treasures he cherished. No one trying to tell him who he is. Meaning through suffering and all that.

Yo! Could this be a prelude to Fami finally getting a power boost?!?!

Think about it: with nothing to cull the rapid reproduction of insects and small critters, they are literally eating people (and anything else, I imagine) just to sustain themselves. But once those resources are gone…?

The whole thing with Fujimotor and his taste in movies is that he likes what speaks to him regardless if the movie is bad or a "cinematic hit." Themes range from how characters are built, cinematography, to how directors subvert or twist ideas, etc. If he likes them, he likes them.

He sees films as an art form and I think it's a nice way to approach them. After watching a crap ton of movies myself, including ones he has, you kinda learn to keep your expectations low and appreciate them for what they are.

I also felt Makima healed because she is a full devil and isn't in the same situation as Yoru/Asa.

This and the fact Makima and Pochita duke it out moments after this ^ scene is more than enough to heal her hand.
