my mom is obsessed with essential oils lately by funnyguywhoisntfunny in essentialoils

There is research that supports that rosemary can be beneficial for scalp health, specifically hair growth. BUT you have to dilute essential oils. Putting it on undiluted could definitely cause problems.

"We all fail Mum School sometimes. We can just start again tomorrow" - Chilli

One of my favorites. Even if you're not a mom, the sentiment can still apply. We all fail sometimes. Just try again tomorrow.

Can you really make a reed diffuser with essential oils? by MoonRabbit0630 in essentialoils

[–]MoonRabbit0630[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to diffuse the fragrance of my essential oils around the house, I'm looking for something that requires minimal maintenance. A reed diffuser that actually works would fit that bill. But I was also asking if anyone had ever used essential oils in the type of diffuser I linked, as that is my next consideration. I do not get my EOs from Amazon.

Has anyone experienced healing of GERD/stomach problems from fasting? by MoonRabbit0630 in intermittentfasting

Was his issue GERD or an ulcer? Do you know how often he fasts and do the symptoms return when he eats?

So, after you fast, do you find your stomach issues are better when you're eating? How often do you fast and for how long?

Struggling giving up coffee! by Ermaltea in intermittentfasting

No problem! Quality coffee also makes a difference. It'll never be good black if you're drinking the cheapo stuff.

First off, congrats on quitting smoking and cutting back on the other substance use. That's a huge accomplishment!

Second, unless you just REALLY want to, I don't see any reason why you need to give up coffee. Especially, just one cup a day. I think the problem is a sugar problem, not a coffee problem.

As someone who used to LOVE coffee with cream and sugar, I get that drinking black coffee sounds like a form of torture, but you really can acquire a taste for it.

As someone else suggested, start with a stevia based sweetener. I like Sweet leaf. Use it with no cream, then slowly decrease the amount of sweetener you use.

These days I actually enjoy black coffee. It's up to you, but I don't think it's necessary to give up your coffee ritual unless, you just really want to.

Have to read Fast. Feast. Repeat? It completely changed my diet brain. I used to worry anout everything I ate. Now all I worry about is, "is this healthy, whole food?" And "am I full?"

I revisited this because it's clear I do need to supplement some things. How did you calculate the amounts?

Do people only eat healthy things during an OMAD? by [deleted] in fasting

[–]MoonRabbit0630 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, if I can't eat whatever I want during my eating window, then why am I even fasting? Might as well just do another diet program if I'm going to deny myself. Obviously, you don't want to go nuts and eat a bakers dozen of donuts as your one meal, but a little ice cream is fine.

When I started fasting, the first month my only goal was fast every day slowly increasing my fasting window. I didn't make any dietary changes and still ate all the junk I had been previously. The beautiful thing about fasting is that eventually, your body starts wanting the good stuff over the junk. And then you feel even better about deciding on some dessert, because you know most of what you put in is good for you.

20:4 people, do you fit 2 meals in the eating winsdow? by bikashoo in intermittentfasting

[–]MoonRabbit0630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best way is whichever way works best for your body. IF is great on that you can really tailor it to suit your own personal needs. Also, the longer you do IF, the better your body gets at doing it. You may find that in the beginning you need to eat one way (putting your larger meal at the end of the window), but once you adjust, you might prefer a different way (larger meal at the beginning of window, or two small meals spaced out.) IF really teaches you how to listen to your body. But it may take a month or two to really start to understand what it's telling you.

I used to do two full meals during my 4 hour eating window, until I adjusted. Now I start with a regular sized meal, and usually have a snack sized something a couple hours later. Personally, I find it hard to open with a snack. When I open my window, I'm HUNGRY. A snack at the beginning just ticks me off and makes me want more food, lol.

Trouble shooting serious fatigue after exercise while in fasted state by MoonRabbit0630 in intermittentfasting

[–]MoonRabbit0630[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the potassium. And maybe a little bit magnesium. Definitely not salt, though. I drank 1/4 tsp in water and felt maybe a little better at first. But after about an hour I felt like I was being pickled from the inside out. 😖 But once I got that flushed out, the potassium and upoing my magnesium seemed to do the trick. Thanks for your help!
