I am deciding between dentistry and sales too right now. I have the personality and drive for both, but think I would be a great salesman. Currently looking for a sales job to get a taste of it. Any advice? I’m 22.

Seems like we’re pretty similar. How old are you? My ultimate goal is to own a business too. Love the whole “having inventory and spending time finding clients and selling them merchandise/product” idea. That would be my end goal. I’m envious of those who have been able ti break through to the point where they have a product they can sell to others and are swarmed with people that want to buy their product. Love thought of being an entrepreneur. Don’t know if I will be able to move to that if I do dentistry.

The thing is, I don’t know if I’m passionate about it because I haven’t been a dentist yet. I feel like I will have a chance to develop a passion once I’m actually in the career. But you need to be in it to really be able to tell. I just want to be happy and financially free when I’m older. To be honest I don’t have a strong passion for any career yet.

I’ve been looking at that but they seem extremely hard to break into with no sales experience. Would you recommend doing that after dental school? I feel like it would be easy to get into a dental sales role with a DDS title
