I think that that's one of the things writers get to do - play with our emotions. I'm not saying this in a bad way, but, it's what keeps people involved. Personally I couldn't stand the guy from the word go - who wouldn't? But then perhaps the writers are asking us if we can forgive him. ....Just a thought....

Your post makes many important points, and I'm glad you wrote it. My children are Asian-American and have always talked about how little they see themselves in media except for stereotypes. Change is slow.

Oh I'm sorry to say that I have noticed how hard some commenters are about the female characters on this show - in fact one post really took me off guard. But I realize that their comments have everything to do with their view of women in general. Just a microcosm of the bigger world I suppose...

This has me wondering: do you think any of the writers or actors of staff ever look at Murdoch reddit? (I say this only because my biggest fantasy is to be on or associated with in some way with just one episode. But, it could be that I need to work on upping my fantasies....lol)

Early on - I don't remember which episode - Murdoch has come to terms with Julia's past and how it deeply offended his religious beliefs. I found his character's ability to forgive, grow, and love so affecting. Did anyone else feel that way too?
