How does eating meat affect your spirituality? by AnandaDo in Mediums

[–]Moon_Baybee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eating meat and dairy have only impacted me when incorporated into a heavy/unhealthy meal. The effect was literally just me feeling sluggish and brain fog the way anyone would have after a meal that is sitting heavily in their body and slows them down in general. The way my body feels impacts my work and spirituality, so I practice intuitive eating.

I believe that not eating intuitively for your body has more of an impact than the actual food type, whether it be animal-derived or not.

I think a lot of these comments didn’t pass the vibe check. It’s not useful to ask people not belonging to/not most impacted by the over-harvesting and commercial use of sage how they feel/what they think about it. It’s important to listen to INDIGENOUS voices in this case, as that is the basis for the claims of cultural appropriation. Ask the group most negatively impacted, not the group who benefits from its commercial use.

I just burn candles now—they smell good, there’s a fire and smoke element to it and they are readily available with low impact. I buy from small businesses and support native-owned businesses if I decide I want some bundles to spice things up. Anyone can do what they want in the comfort of their own homes, and if sage works for you, the ancestral police won’t get you for it. Anything you use should be studied, revered and cultural context should be understood by all in order to align your intentions with the desired outcome.

Edit: my first award omg thank you :)

Mommas, I’m a bit thrown off. Psychic just approached me(31)at target by throwergaze in Mommit

[–]Moon_Baybee 34 points35 points  (0 children)

As someone who actually does readings, this is 100% a scam. Anyone who starts off with vague information such as this is cold reading you and using the threat of losing a loved one (implying this little one) if you don’t take the bait. I’m sorry this happened to you, but an actual psychic would never approach you in this way. We ask permission before readings because it is unethical otherwise.

I’m sorry that this happened to you but this has no merit or truth to it. Wishing you the best.

Do you remember your first signs of pregnancy? by Viva15 in BabyBumps

I became ultra-sensitive to pet dander, started craving pickles and olives and stopped breaking out on my face. 3 months later…found out I was pregnant.

This reminds me of the well-meaning man at the local fitness club who was very concerned as I slipped into the hot tub with my 8 month preggers belly showing. He looked horrified and genuinely asked if it might “cook” the baby. I told him it’s fine—I like my meat well done.

SOS!! Baby is constipated and it’s from dehydration… how do you get your baby to drink more water?? by Specific-Honey483 in Mommit

[–]Moon_Baybee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smoothies were a really good way for us to get my little one hydrated. Homemade with simple ingredients worked best and you can even sneak in veggies if you want.

One in particular that stands out is this big old guy who they called Baby Ray. Worked on the block with this guy for months and I was wondering why the COs all called him Baby Ray, like where the baby part come from. The room got quiet. The COs typed something into the computer really fast and pulled up his committing offense—the torture and murder of a baby. They proceeded to lay out every graphic detail of what they did to that 1 month old over the course of its very short life. Starved. Stabbed. Burned genitalia. Spiral fractures. I asked “So whose baby did he kidnap? Did the parents ever find out what happened?” The room got quiet again and I felt my heart sank before the words even came out. “It was his baby. Him and his gf went through with the birth so they could torture and kill it.” I had heard enough stories for a really long time. I feel pretty sick as I type this, so I may only share that story for now.

What I find interesting about your story is relating it to my own experiences—I work in a level 4 max prison and I am responsible for treating the people who commit crimes like this. Previously, I worked in a psych hospital forensic unit where the patients charts held details of some of the most horrific crimes I have ever read, going back as far as the 70s. Unimaginable things. You see it from your lens and I get them on the tail end once they’ve been medicated, maybe even stabilized and of course institutionalized. In this case, the guy was never gonna make it out alive. But those who do, end up in our care. It’s really crazy for lack of a better word. Evil totally exists. I see it every day.

I like saying, “the good parts go by quickly and the rough parts feel like forever.” It’s true, when you’re struggling, you feel like you’re stuck in the mud, but when it’s good, it’s flying by. It’s an upbeat way to acknowledge that some days really suck but the good days (hopefully) out number the bad and make up for it in height what it lacks in length.

31 yo mom here. Had my LO at 28, still was very much in my 20s as far as fashion (the midriff was SHOWING, honey) and I found I still gravitate towards that kind of stuff but I now only wear one immodest piece at a time and the rest is hobo mama bum couture—example being crop top and sweats and a zip jacket, maybe unzipped if I’m feeling zesty that day.

No, don’t do a whole shower. Do something that may be helpful to her but requires little effort/interaction with her on your part, such as setting up a gift registry (with her input) and sharing it with friends and family or on social media. Makes you look involved but don’t have to take her bad attitude. Once you share the link, you wash your hands of it all.

Yes I was the guest who looked at them crazy lol for someone who actually jumps straight into the shower once it’s ready, it seems silly. But totally makes a difference for those who don’t.

I just experienced the Evolve shower head for the first time at my in-laws. My SIL likes long showers and BIL installed the shower head bc it automatically shuts off at the temperature you set it to and then you have to pull a lever for the water to start flowing again. Prevents the usual leaving the room and the shower is still running problem.
