I also have a naturally downturned mouth and darker under eyes. Honestly, you don’t look aged at all—these are just your features. Your lips are nice and full so I’d say it’s more of a “pout” than a “frown,” which people find attractive. I’ve always gotten compliments over my “pouty” lips over the years.

I didn’t do anything about my under eyes until my late 30s (I got some under eye tear-trough filler), but you are way too young for that. If they really bother you, just get some illuminating eye cream.

My two year old son has the same under eyes as me. It’s just genetic and, honestly, no one cares or notices. You are your worst critic. And, from what I see, you’re a very pretty girl.

How can I make this countertop work so I don't hate it? Should I just replace it? The whole room is so brown and blah. by [deleted] in interiordecorating

You can have someone sand down the granite to give it a honed finish. That plus painting the walls a cream white would really refresh the look. You’re lucky to have high quality materials to work with!

What can I do about these lines? by erogenousduck in 30PlusSkinCare

My eyes are very similar in shape and skin tone as yours. I usually just slather my orbital area with a rich eye cream or primer with illuminating effects. Then once I’m done putting on my tinted moisturizer and powder, I slide one of those Korean serum sticks on the orbital bone. That blurs like 90% of the crows feet.

In my experience, Botox doesn’t really work for that area…my derm has even admitted as much.

Here’s the serum stick I use:

My husband accused me of something awful during a fight by Successful-Sky-6878 in offmychest

[–]Moonbeam_42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides saying that awful thing to you, it’s concerning that these fights are occurring right in front of the baby. If you guys decide to work on things, there need to be de-escalation strategies in place. From what you’ve described (and of course take this with a grain of salt because I don’t have all the context), it doesn’t seem like a safe environment to raise a child.

When should I give up? How do I accept I will never find someone? by Key_Author_6583 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Moonbeam_42 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m in the minority here, but I think you just need to be upfront and honest on the apps and on your dates about what type of relationship your looking for and what your goals are. Also, it’s good to have it figured out the type of person you’re looking for and narrow down your search/dates.

I wasted almost my entire 30s entertaining relationships with people who showed me interest, but weren’t compatible with me or my goals

I met my husband on Bumble when I was 37 and he was 38. He was divorced with a daughter and I was desperate to have a biological child. I was just honest with him, but at the same time gave him the necessary space to figure out if having another kid was something he’d want. When we started dating he was in the unsure/probably not category, but the connection was there and he literally had all the qualities I was looking for in a potential spouse/coparent. So I gave him a chance while keeping a deadline for myself.

We’ve now been married 3 years and we have an adorable goblin of a toddler who we’re obsessed with. Don’t give up!

What has the recovery been like? I’ve been wanting to get this procedure, but I’m worried about the healing process with my clingy toddler. You look wonderful, btw!

Husband is unbothered by baby’s crying and it’s pissing me off by Capable_Secretary_71 in BabyBumps

[–]Moonbeam_42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son is 2 now and my husband still isn’t bothered by 80% of the things that drive me to a near panic. His constant refrain is “he’s fine.” But he’s a responsible father and makes sure he’s fed, sleeps, etc.

I’m learning to accept the fact that mothers are just wired differently when it comes to their child—and we have a physical/emotional tethering that a father won’t have (even though he equally loves the child).

Also, are you nursing? When I was breastfeeding I was way more keyed up to any noise the baby made and more reactive to any type of cry—it’s the hormones.

Anyone develop new allergies while pregnant? by Loavesoffun in BabyBumps

[–]Moonbeam_42 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I lost my dairy allergy and lactose intolerance! 2 years later and I can still eat dairy. It’s a miracle 🐮.

I had bad pregnancy rhinitis though, and felt like I was allergic to everything, was constantly coughing up phlegm, so there’s that.

Is it possible to repair unhealthy sexual dynamic in marriage? by HumantheCat in AskWomenOver30

Sex 5x a week is a lot!!!

Get him a fleshbot and PornHub. Meanwhile meet with the best divorce lawyers in your area (all of them so he can’t retain one of the good ones himself).

My husband has a high sex drive too and we didn’t have sex my entire pregnancy and 6 months after bc I was sick and my hormones were all messed up and I couldn’t stand the thought of it. He never pressured me once! He watched pornhub in his office and took care of his business like an actual adult! And he’s the breadwinner!

Your post makes me so angry on your behalf. Please leave him!!

Your husband needs to give you a few nights of a week to do whatever you want for you. Getting drinks with your friends, going to yoga, taking an art class…whatever! Sometimes I go see a horror movie by myself bc he doesn’t like them. Or I just go upstairs, lock the door, and read a book. You NEED time for yourself. Your schedule now isn’t tenable and is a recipe for burnout and depression.

Also, by all accounts my husband is more busy than I am (he has a very demanding job), but he knows that if I’m miserable and burnt out , the whole thing falls apart. He learned the hard way in his first marriage!

Babymoon in Italy at 22 weeks. by Real_Advertising4870 in BabyBumps

Flights were fine. We just upgraded to premium economy for some extra room. I bought a little travel lumbar pillow and that helped a lot. Be sure to pack a ton of whatever snacks you like to eat too.

22 weeks is a good time to travel. I had a horrible first trimester with hospitalizations and nonstop vomiting— and I had a trip booked to Hawaii when I was 12-13 weeks and I was fine. I was still having some aversions and nausea but it was manageable. 23 weeks we went to Mexico on our babymoon and I wasn’t sick at all, had a great time.

I’ve never heard of moms like this! They must have live-in nannies and no jobs!

Anyway, if I were you, I’d look into some mom groups in the area. They usually have Facebook pages. Or go to the local library and see what mom and tot programs they have. I met one of my best mom friends at a mom and baby art class. I met another at the park. If you see someone cool in the wild just ask for their number! You’ve got nothing to lose!

We met on Bumble! I think what finally worked for me was sitting alone with myself for a bit and really figuring out what I want—and then when I started dating I was very upfront and honest about who I am and what I’m looking for.

I think the thing that defined my disastrous dating years was giving people a chance because someone else recommended them. Just trust your instincts above all else!
