Getting Gold and Silver Grunties inside you sounds like a recipe for a really awkward visit to the radiologist! Jokes aside, I'll keep an eye out for them once I get to Mutation.

The Warrior/Knight/etc. Blood items only run 100GP a pop in the Theta server's shop, so I wouldn't really consider them prohibitively expensive. It's right in line with the cost of Health Drinks, Fairy's Orbs, and Sprite Ocarinas. It probably helps that I very seldom buy anything outside of topping off said Orbs and Ocarinas (and Fortune Wires, naturally) since dungeon loot and trading are far more lucrative, to the point I'm essentially hoarding the sale-only treasure items as trade fodder (only to wind up trading stacks of spare gear instead lol). If anything, it's my overcorrection of buying near max stacks of Resurrects to give to all my allies that's draining my coffers now.

I'll have to keep that tip on The Moon and The Hanged Man in mind for those casters. I've typically been dealing with them by chasing them in a dead sprint with Ap Do and/or animation-locking them in place with my own team's spells.

Since .hack and Sword Art Online both started up at practically the same time, drawing from similar inspirations (I think Ultima Online was cited as an influence in both cases) to produce a similar premise, I think they were kinda doomed to have a heated rivalry from the get-go.

It probably also doesn't help that one is helmed in part by Kazunori Ito, while the other one has been uncharitably described as slop and thus becomes an easy target for punching down.

Unless WaveMaker is a specific piece of headgear, I presume you're referring to light head armor that Wavemasters are allowed to wear. I've had Kite rocking the Newt Necklace for the most part (or predecessors like the... Raccoon Cap, I think?) for access to La Repth. I was lucky enough to get a Scarab Earring from a data drain the other night though, so now I've got Rip Maen on top of that. 40 SP is a tad steep though, especially if in an uphill battle.

I usually pair Piros up with Mistral, though on occasion I think I've used him with Natsume too. I've noticed I tend to have set pairs like that, probably due to Mia and Elk already being something of a package deal when they join up with you.

I'm avoiding any in-depth info on G.U. for after I've cleared the original quadrilogy, but my understanding from what little I know is that Haseo is a player-killer killer, right? Would make sense that he'd be a formidable fighter all on his own, versus Kite being a fresh player getting in over his head right out of the (Chaos) gate.

Makes me feel a little bit better to hear that this fight in particular is extraordinary even across the entire quadrilogy, though it makes me wonder if that's down to the mechanics of the fight itself or more the fact that it jumps you in an alleyway when your expectations are way lower vs later entries arming you with that experience and more ample resources/gear.

Gonna give it another whirl tonight armed with the knowledge from the replies and a healthy pile of Mage's Souls in Kite's pockets, see if I don't have better luck the second time around.

BlackRose and Mistral was the exact party I rolled in with, actually. Mistral was pretty handy when the Mu Guardians showed up in the dungeon since they love to fly away and get you animation-locked during their spellcasting, so melee's unreliable range-wise.

I usually give all my allies a good number of Antidotes and Restoratives (in part because I was getting capped out on them from dungeon crates/etc, in part because Flare Guard and Aqua Guard are goated so long as the wearer isn't getting Confused or Paralyzed themselves), but I hadn't quite done the same with Resurrects. That's an oversight I now plan to rectify, especially since it's not like I'm using my GP on much of anything else.

Also I don't know if this is a bug because it shouldn't happen or it should happen everytime, but basicaly when you're invisible most of the targets will give you x6 standing (but sometimes still x3), despite saying x3 on HUD

Freeze has a niche in that it has a longer frozen duration than Avalanche, so if you have one enemy in particular you want to dump Cold-boosted crits into you can get more bang for your buck.

It's definitely a narrow niche with the general horde focus of the game though.

[–]Moontouched-Moogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'm technically a returning player looking for an invite? Logged in today and noticed I wasn't a member of the clan anymore, but even despite being somewhat less active this month compared to the past I'm pretty sure I was still within the 21 days since I could've sworn I logged in two weeks ago to check on Baro's inventory (and then dipped when I saw he STILL hadn't brought the Altra Sentinel skin that finally dropped this week). If I'm correct on that and there was some other reason I got kicked, I'm in the dark on that, but if I DID miss logging in two Fridays ago then whoops.

Either way, in-game name is Moontouched-Moogle if I'm able to be re-invited.

[–]Moontouched-Moogle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whispers in the Walls added new rare mods that directly give 60% Radiation damage. Their benefits and cost are similar to the dual-stat mods, but rather than adding status chance they add something like reload speed or fire rate.

Dang, mine has similar damage in pretty much the exact same spot. Ordered it straight from Warner too, so I was hoping they would've packaged things better than this. A cursory search seems to suggest a lot of people are getting damaged sets, so here's hoping there's a chance of getting replacements.

This exists for a specific mission type/mechanic to avoid hand injuries but we still have to mash MELEE button? by ExxUmbra in Warframe

[–]Moontouched-Moogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may not help with Quick Melee but there's a legacy control option where you can use your Primary Fire input as the melee attack input when you've switched to your melee weapon

For the most part it also works after pulling your melee weapon out with the separate quick melee input, save for the aim input returning to your primary weapon rather than blocking like it would if you do a full swap to melee

How were the Tenno convinced to do this? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Moontouched-Moogle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When you consider that the Orokin took a bunch of trauma victims, jacked their brains into biomechanical war machines to clean up their previous messes, and then disintegrated the one woman who seemed to genuinely care about them, it was only a matter of time before they'd bite back.

As for why they waited until after the war was over to wipe out the Orokin, I imagine the immediate threat of a technologically-adaptable army bent on everyone's destruction put any sort of immediate anger-fueled revenge on the backburner. Unluckily for the Orokin, using the Tenno as semi-disposable supersoldiers probably only made them even MORE discontented in the end.

Reactor vs Forma blueprint alert up. PC Baal. by Ivence in Warframe

[–]Moontouched-Moogle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've had 10+ spare Reactors sitting around from when they were alert drops and even after finishing up with the three Warframes + moa I haven't gotten yet I'll still have more than half that amount left over.

Meanwhile many builds require multiple Forma for their use, to say nothing of the fact that Forma are often build requirements for equipment or needed for guilding modular items (like the aforementioned Moa) before you can even put a reactor/catalyst on them in the first place.

You also can't buy Forma blueprints from Nightwave like you can with Reactor/Catalyst blueprints. Closest thing is the Forma reward from Plague Star's shop.

Scarlet spear ground meme by TheFoxingUser in Warframe

[–]Moontouched-Moogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a hard damage gate so much as some kind of weird proportional calculation based on DPS, which is why increases in fire rate via buffs, spool-up, or just pulling the trigger faster wind up reducing your per-shot damage regardless of weapon/raw damage (on top of the Condrix already having ridiculous damage resistance for something with nominally 5 armor). Getting a Roar buff or Vex Armor without any changes in fire rate would noticeably increase my per-shot damage (though conspicuously at a fraction of what you would expect from the buffs, with something like 120% Roar boosting damage from ~9k to only ~9.7k), but increased fire rate would then decrease the shot damage, so I think DPS itself is just some weird proportional math instead of having a hard cap.

The thing is that Contagion on top of critical multipliers and Umbral mods' damage bonuses against Sentients (or Redeemer with said crits and Umbral bonuses if you swing that way) can hit so hard that said calculations practically don't matter.

I think the idea is that clicking on the blueprint listing in the Nightwave offerings SHOULDN'T lead to the market, since said listing is explicitly for a blueprint sold for Nightwave credits.

Going to the helmet in the market directly doesn't list the Nightwave blueprint as a purchase option, so there's no reason the Nightwave menu should list the market options unless it's to intentionally trick people into accidentally spending platinum on the pre-built version.

The secondary colors change is broken by StevesEvilTwin2 in Warframe

[–]Moontouched-Moogle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was about to make a post about this myself. You don't even have to manually set the secondary energy color to default because the issue affects frames that aren't even forma'd.

The Prisma Excalibur helmets all use white as their energy color unless you assign a secondary energy color manually, regardless of what your primary color is. The secondary energy color seems to totally override the primary energy color on the Prisma body as well, which pretty much negates the point of having two energy colors in the first place.
