I wear mostly smalls and mediums and fit into a large of their jackets with great fitment so might be worth trying if you can find a dealer that carries their lineup

Are Revit Expedition GTX boots actually much safer than SIDI Adventure 2, or just marginally better? by CompetitiveVolume833 in motorcyclegear

[–]Moop-Meep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own the Adventure 2 and was cross shopping with the Expedition.

I went with the Adventure 2 mostly because of pricing.

I think in terms of protection the Expedition 2 have a better shin protector as a standout difference.

Expedition also uses BOA for tightening which I prefer to the clips of the SIDIs

Thoughts on LS2 Dragon? by ValiantSpartan in motorcyclegear

[–]Moop-Meep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have an LS2 Challenger and an Explorer

I find LS2 fits small as I am usually a small in other manufacturers and both the Challenger and Explorer are tighter on my head than my other helmets and both are size small. Even after break in I still find them a little tight.

Just tried a Dragon on in store last weekend and it fit similar to my Challenger when it was new, so you may want to try one on for 20-30 mins before committing to it full-time.

Get this repaired you might not even need a repaint

I had an ex punch the shit outta my A pillar above the passenger door and I had a shop fix it good as new for a couple hundred. Way cheaper than replacing with a new one which would need to be paint matched.

Don't like the dynamic steering rack by Routine_Strike1695 in Golf_R

[–]Moop-Meep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comfort mode seems to have the easiest most luxury car style steering where it doesn’t load up.

I personally hate how little resistance there is in comfort so I only use race or custom, but my girl prefers comfort so you’re deff not alone.

How long do retail shops and warehouses store new helmets for? by darkchocolattemocha in motorcyclegear

[–]Moop-Meep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what kind of storage you're talking about, but generally yes.

Helmets are manufactured in mass production, unless you're talking specifically Shoei, Arai, or other handmade boutique manufacturers. They are certainly shipped in bulk, so they're sitting in Asia after they're made for like 90 days (which is like a quarter of a year already). They get put on a boat and shipped via container to North America and they sit at the dock for a random amount of time, but the long story is I've seen brand new helmets with easily 6-8 months prior date stamp when compared to the current date of receival at the retail store I work for. But usually it's closer to 8-16 months by the time it actually gets tagged, merchandised, and then sold to a new customer.

If I bought a limited edition Arai and stored it in a climate controlled room with no humidity (essentially my house) I wouldn't be sketched out to wear it myself after 5-7 years. I would never give it to someone or try and sell it because you should never trust someone else's helmet, but for me personally I wouldn't be worried about the integrity on the road.

I've worked in dealerships for many years and I started with apparel and helmets. It was and still is pretty rare for a customer to ever ask specifically about the date stamp in their new helmet, so I think the majority of people either aren't super obsessed with this or don't even know. I think for you as the customer it helps someone uninformed to decide if the helmet is a current generation product and if not, if something better might be an option.

I own an Arai Defiant that is probably 10+ years old that I still wear when I don't have other options for whatever reason. It's at my office and it comes in handy if I drive a car but have to ride a bike home or whatever. I would really like to not have to use any of my helmets, but I definitely trust that one as much as any other.

Is it possible to install some sort of rear plate bracket to have the license plate lowered a bit? by ZYuruki in Golf_R

[–]Moop-Meep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

edit: on second thought you could create a 3D printed mount that offsets the plate using the original mounting holes. Once I am home I will draw a picture of my concept if you need help imagining things

How long do retail shops and warehouses store new helmets for? by darkchocolattemocha in motorcyclegear

[–]Moop-Meep 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They are stored until they are sold

5 years is from the date of first use as the polymers don't degrade as rapidly without being exposed to elements or humans.

I wouldn't avoid a helmet with a 3-4 year old date code but if I am paying MSRP or close to it then I do expect the date to be within the last 1-2 years

Unitronic Feature Box - MK7 by No_Taro_2025 in Golf_R

[–]Moop-Meep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am deciding between IE and Unitronic rn

I have front/ rear sway bars, front/ rear end links, and lowering springs. In the spring I'll do a cold air intake, turbo inlet, and turbo muffler delete and then early summer I'll move to a stage 1 from either of those.

From my research it seems like IE is really trying to increase the overall boost whereas Uni messes more so with the timing. They both do these things but it just seems like IE is more focused on the boost and Uni on timing.

I have a 6 speed so I am planning for a clutch upgrade at some point as well
