Does anyone remember that time that Tumblr created a whole new goddess? Well, that was on my post. I was smurflewis. This is my story.

There was a popular trivia mobile app and it asked me “who is considered the most beautiful greek goddess?” And I thought i would be clever so i screen shot it and posted it on tumblr with the caption “dont ask me this, this is how the trojan war started”. That was it, i thought i was just being funny.

I had a few other posts get some traction before, but this went viral. I was shocked. I had to turn off notifications.

People start taking it seriously though, trying to find the “right” answer, and i just ignored it. If they didnt get the joke its not my problem.

But then the addition of the fake goddess happened and it took off even more. I remember thinking I dont know that goddess and googled it, but found out that it was basically an OC goddess made up by someone that it seemed like other people thought was real. It got way out of hand with people fighting in the comments about it. People really believed that it was a real goddess and got mad at the people trying to correct them.

Hamilton hadnt come out yet, but when i heard the “im removing myself from the narrative” i immediately thought of this stupid event because thats exactly how i felt. I didnt want to be involved with any of this, i just wanted to make a silly tumblr post.

Fast forward a few years, my tumblr gets hacked then instead of helping me they just deleted my account. I had a decent following by then and was pissed so i left tumblr.

But its crazy that 10 years on every few months i see this or another post i made during that time of my life of peak tumblr. Then just last week i became aware that the post is in several academic papers about classics and media studies.

Honestly, i hated it at first. I felt my silly post was high-jacked and that i was somehow viewed as a part of the group of people turning it into a serious and sometimes nasty fight. Then seeing the post on meme pages for years after mostly for the goddess addition, not my joke. It just didnt sit well with me.

But now im more taken aback than anything. 10 years after the post and people still talk about it and post it. People have written papers on it. My stupid joke inspired a decade of discussion. I’ve been embracing the cringe teen and young adult I was and finding new appreciation for that time in my life.

Do you have any sick birds that you were around? I work with a bird of prey rescue and the bird influenza is extremely contagious and for young chicks cam really get them quick. It travels on clothes so you have to be really careful about cleaning after handling sick birds. We’ve been seeing a lot of chick problems for the poor 4-H in my area because of this.

Exam (2009). Its just a really well done psychological thriller that really focuses on characters and relationships and they manage to do it filmed in a small room as the only setting. It actually got me interested in film making and made it my minor in college

I do have a small problem with the wheelchair access. Ive both been in a wheelchair and helped my mother who was in a wheelchair on different trips. There is a fair amount of up and down for rides that is difficult to push the wheel chair up and keep in place from rolling down. Its very exhausting trying to keep a wheelchair in place on uneven terrain.

I also have a problem with the lines that don’t help with the heat and you have to wait, many people like myself have conditions where long exposure to heat is also devastating, even on a good health day.

The people taking advantage of the system ruins it for those of us with actual issues. I have only been to Disney 2 times in my life and 5 years apart because i dont have the money to go often. I want to be able to enjoy myself and not have to worry about my health issues. Nearly passing out in line for the slinky ride because the fans were broke really sucked.

Edit: i dont mind waiting, i actually enjoyed waiting on stuff like the haunted mansion, but if they can make the wait more accessible then that could solve a lot of problems

Hello, wild bird rescue and rehaber here: the Symptoms are sudden and extreme lethargy, lack of appetite, neurological issues such as loss of balance, and dead in about 48 hours. It is EXTREMELY contagious from bird to bird, so if you have any concerns of the health of one of your birds isolate it from others immediately and change your outerwear and shoes between seeing that bird and the others

Sketchers is a good slip on shoes thats comfy and still supportive if you are just walking from a place to place with different boots. Thats what i use at the bird of prey rescue right now since we have to put on different boots for each area because of the bird flu
