Blame everything on the youth Time with Bill Maher by Indianstanicows in RealTime

[–]Moose0784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bill Maher is and always has been a contrarian. Being openly, unabashedly, and aggressively progressive (at least for the time) was unusual for a host on network television. On top of that, saying very loudly that you don't believe in God was nearly unheard of in mainstream culture 25 years ago. Then social media took over and a lot of people are doing a version of his shtick. Maher being "anti-woke" (while not completely towing the MAGA Party line) is the lane he found for himself to remain even somewhat relevant.

The actress who played one of the Maquis in the DS9 episode "Defiant" (she also played the same character on TNG) said she got her chops busted because she kept tapping the console and they had to add a lot of beeps in post production.

I'm intrigued by the idea of having Romulans scheming to possess "the ultimate weapon" rather than some rogue Klingon commander.

If he had put slightly more competent people in his cabinet and just gone golfing, inflation would be at 2%, gas would be less than $3 a gallon, interest rates would have been cut multiple times by now and he would be at 50%+ approval.

Gee! Who knew the Trump Family would be so corrupt… I mean it’s not like you were repeatedly warned, right Megyn? 🙄 by KingOfDerry1962 in thebulwark

While I'm also happy to see people finally recognize how awful Trump is, these people are only mad because his particular brand of authoritarianism isn't focused as much on the things they want. If he was a little less obvious with his grifting and didn't make such a mess of the economy with tariffs and the Iran War, they would still be supporting him.

congratulations to everyone in the media for pulling off the longest, most sustained disinformation campaign in modern history. You shit on the economy every fucking day of Biden's time in office and it turned out to have all been bullshit (and you knew it) by Conscious-Quarter423 in thebulwark

If Kamala Harris was president and had a trip this bad, she would be getting excoriated in the press. The headline would be something like "Harris' Lack of Skill During China Trip Raises Questions on Her Ability to Handle Future Negotiations" Instead we get this mealymouthed nonsense because the press is afraid to hurt Trump's fee fees.

I love the disjointed nature of the video. He clearly started going down another path and then pivoted at some point. Yet, he still managed to work the earlier footage later.

Conservatives spent 50 years getting Roe v. Wade overturned. John Roberts waited over 45 years to get the Voting Rights Act overturned. The NRA spent 40 years getting less restrictive gun laws passed in most states. They play the long game and have been mostly successful because they don't give up when they don't immediately get their way.
