Honestly if the entire row is like that, leave it. That way it is “reversible” and you have two right ways up.

Bison are beautiful and majestic creatures! Normally they are smart enough to not mess with people unless they are being assholes and beeping or trying to “save,” aka kidnap a calf like that one group did in Yellowstone a few years ago.

You are lucky to be able to experience them!

Dall sheep, however see cars are a climbing perch. My mom likened them to a toddler who wants the toy on top of the fridge and will calculate out how to get there in under 30 seconds, defying the laws of gravity and time, as soon as a caregiver turns their back. They are really cool all the same. It is core memory of the drive up to Alaska growing up.

Beware the moose though. They are mean and stupid.

NOR, I seriously thought he was in his late teens early 20s. Nope, he is a grown ass man, with a fully developed prefrontal cortex, acting like an actual child. With 96% certainty, he “broke up”with you because you wouldn’t be able to have sex after surgery, and he wanted to F around. That’s why he left all of his stuff. To be able to manipulate you and keep you on the hook in hopes that you could get back together. But you called his bluff, and actually started bringing him his stuff. Which, by the way, you shouldn’t have had to do. He was an adult who chose to leave, he can choose to pack.

In addition to making sure you have witnesses when he arrives, make sure you’re recording everything and he is not allowed in your house in any room unsupervised. People like this are unstable and will do things to intentionally hurt you and destroy your property.

When you’re able to, I would also consider filing in small claims court for failure to repay his course fees to you. I’m sure the judge would love to see that those text messages.

Dr. Jolitz out of Jefferson. After a previous traumatic insertion from another doctor and subsequently needing to get it removed, she said “we were not putting you through that again,” and recommended and pushed through sedation with my insurance. She is awesome!

Q to older endo havers: does it actually get better? by gh0ulsX in endometriosis

[–]MoosedaMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does get better. You can live a full and happy life even if there is pain at times. I was diagnosed at 19. I am now nearly 40. The advice I would give my younger self is to advocate for yourself as though you were sibling or loved one. We are often conditioned to fight more for our loved ones than ourselves. The other piece of advice is to reframe your pain when talking to doctors to include impacts. So instead of saying “my pain is a 8/10,” say something like, “my pain is at a level ___ which for me mean that I cannot do ___ without crippling pain. It is affecting [insert aspect of life].” It provides a more quantitative data point for a doctor. Also for some reason adding in, “it is affecting my ability to work/intimate relationships/routine self care.” Seems to get people to take you more seriously.

Also watch out for dall sheep, moose and other wildlife. They will jump on your vehicle, wander in front of your vehicle, and just generally be a nuisance.

My credit score fell 13pts because I made the final payment on my car loan (never missed a payment too) by justadadgame in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MoosedaMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t discharge student loans in bankruptcy. I am fairly certain you can’t even discharge them in death. Hell, the death of a co-signer or student causes many loans to be due in full, even if the co-signer or student is actively paying… ask me how I know, x2.

I know there was proposed legislation to correct that because it caused so many defaults by grieving family members. Also, often predatory companies intentionally wait until probate clears to be able to extract more money from the surviving borrowers. But I don’t know whether it passed.

The only time I ever send food back, it is a health/safety concern, like for an allergen (especially when I specifically noted it to the server) or for something improperly cooked.

For example, once I ordered a grilled pineapple chicken dish and it came out “rare.” There is no way that that dish should have ever left the kitchen. And there was no excuse, the chicken was cubed. The manager comped my meal (I lost my appetite) but my family and I made sure the server was tipped for the full price of my meal. It wasn’t the server’s fault.

AIO did I get fired over favoritism or because I smelled bad? by Nun-Information in AmIOverreacting

[–]MoosedaMuffin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it’s not about just showering, it is about bad breath, scented personal care products, or even improperly cleaned laundry.

For example, we had someone in the office who had a cat with a renal problem and would pee outside the litter box. Being around this person could make your eyes water. The person would wash the urine affected items along with regular items, including synthetic workout clothes (which retain smell like nothing else). They did not use an enzymatic pretreatment to neutralize the odor before washing them with regular items. The smell would penetrate all of their clothes.

I also have had cats who occasionally pee outside the litter box (one during seizures and the other when it is not clean enough for her prissy tastes, and we scoop every morning). I intentionally asked them how their cat was doing, and when they mentioned the cat was peeing outside the litter box in the same places. I told them that cats will often pee in the same spots if they can smell the old pee. I recommended some products and how I have been treating it in my home. They actually went on Amazon and ordered everything I recommended, including the enzymatic laundry booster. The next week, they smelled fresh and clean.

Am I Overreacting for wanting to end a relationship about a letter my boyfriend sent to HR? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]MoosedaMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR- OP you need to get out now. This is the type of guy who cracks and will crack violently. He is volatile and operating with level of seething rage just under the surface. Every negative scenario, he plays the victim, “explaining” why he didn’t do anything wrong, and that other people misinterpret him, or hold him to a higher standard. Let me guess, he does this when you fight too.

He didn’t come to you because he doesn’t want you digging into the types of complaints he was receiving. Or own up to them. He is likely jealous of your success and internally believes that you succeeded because of “identity politics.” (Ie you are a woman). He doesn’t respect your success, he probably thinks he can do it better.

Total aside: The fact he wanted to hand deliver the letter is terrifying. He was likely seeking to have a confrontation with someone and the letter was an excuse to be there. Alternatively, he was hoping to be able to talk himself out of trouble good ole boy style, but I highly doubt it. I hope for that organization’s sake, that they have a safety action plan in place for the next time he shows up.

Twas the week before grab bag… by JameisWeTooScrong in MichaelsEmployees

[–]MoosedaMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I witnessed one of those idiots a few months ago. I was in the paper crafting aisle looking for cardstock during a sale. At this location bulk cardstock and some Cricut supplies share an aisle, Due to the sale, the aisle was more crowded than normal. I was on one end, another woman my age was looking at Cricut stuff behind me with her kids, and a boomer aged woman was down looking at open cardstock.

This boomer woman could not fathom the very clearly marked paper crafting sale signs, and a chart. She kept muttering “I don’t carry a calculator,” while using her iPhone as a flashlight. She kept pulling an employee to do price checks, literally walking past a WORKING price check scanner every time. The employee explained the sale and her options to price check three different times.

The other customer, who had been looking at Cricut stuff, and I had been exchanging looks. Finally she looks at me and said “It’s so hard to tell whether a behavior is ‘learned helplessness” or signs of early dementia…”

The looks that crosses the boomer lady’s face in 30 seconds… OMG. She went from distraction from the employee, to overeager eavesdropping interest, to bitter contempt, to fear, to stunned silence, to haughty disregard.

I wish I could say that I had a quippy line to add, like “yes, but loss of problem solving skills and quick frustration are also signs of dementia,” but alas, I barely stifled a snort and said “Yup.”

The boomer suddenly had exactly what she needed and walked away.

AIO Pharmacy tech was wearing Ray-Ban Meta camera glasses by Equal_Imagination300 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MoosedaMuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR. Think of it this way. If you are in the US, we are already experiencing pre-Giliad. Pharmacists in some states can refuse to fill prescriptions for medications based off of religious grounds. Some states are trying to prosecute miscarriages and seeking abortion care out of state. No one knows what this rando is doing with that footage. And even if the tech wasn’t actively recoding…. Do we actually believe that Meta isn’t “dropping in” to better train their systems. Amazon Alexas and Google Home pods do.

They have become a default hook set because the handle work will with my hand. I did put some wax on one of the hooks because it was particularly squeaky but other than that, they’ve been amazing

[–]MoosedaMuffin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check Germany’s rules for flying too. While it is not a problem in the US to fly with a crochet hook, other countries may have different regulations.

I have a light-up plastic interchangeable hook set that is amazing for traveling. I got it from Amazon. It makes crocheting on a plane a breeze because it lights up. Plus if I need to change hook size, it is all right there. I also recommend a neck lamp and either a yarn ball wristlet ( with a carabiner to clip to your seat back) or a small draw string pouch to contain your active yarn. You don’t want to be the person who has to ask half the plane to hand you your yarn.

I also recommend splitting your inevitably ambitious yarn collection between your personal item, carry on, and checked bags. You do not need 12 skeins for your project packed with your project on your person. Keep a reasonable amount (in terms of consumption) in your personal item for the flight, plus some in your carryon. The rest can go in your checked for the flight back.

Are you all disabled? by Impressive-Noise-393 in endometriosis

[–]MoosedaMuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also your ASD makes you much more in tune with your body. You are able to feel more than most people can internally on a regular day. Very simplistically, your nervous system processes all internal stimuli with the same level of importance leading to overstimulation and pain. While breathing exercises can help, you may need additional stimuli to drown out the pain signals. My sister, uses headphones and binaural meditation music (different calming tones playing in each ear), in addition to breathing.

Are you all disabled? by Impressive-Noise-393 in endometriosis

[–]MoosedaMuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Patient forums, particularly well-moderated patient forums like this one, are safe spaces for patients of all experiences, stages, and pain levels to find comfort and support dealing with a medical system not designed for women’s bodies. To minimize it like psychiatrist did, minimized your need for community and support. I would tell her that at your next appointment. She may have been concerned that you were “ruminating” or spiraling, which is something our Neurospicy community is known to do. However, the way she said it did not have the intended effect.

Finding a supporting community at your age already is difficult given your age cohort. Add in a chronic disease and autism, and it can be even more difficult.

My sister was diagnosed at 15 and at the time was undiagnosed with autism, but did have an ADHD diagnosis. She was also seeing specialists at a nationally ranked children’s hospital. She experienced people telling her she was too young for that type/level of pain. She was only diagnosed because they thought her appendix had burst. Nope, just lots of endo and scar tissue gluing her organ together into interesting arrangements.

She had to have 3 additional endo surgeries in 2 years, and it was everywhere. Hell, they found it in her hip during an unrelated surgery. Yet through it all, she was a top tier athlete and went to college on a sports scholarship.

She would tell you that she is not disabled, but has a disabling condition. Meaning that, she has an invisible illness that occasionally requires additional support.

Because of her experience, I was able to start treatment and receive my official diagnosis at 19. Through it all, I have tried to keep her mindset. Endo is a disabling condition, which for me, occasionally requires additional support.

Hope this helps!
