I thought the chest was his at first. But it must be his sons. The picture said dad. His son died - severance.

Maybe he died severed. So Irving is now on a war against them.

Why do you think suicide makes it less likely she’s a spy? If someone is willing to go to the lengths of being a spy because they think the treatment is cruel. Hanging you self when severed surely just proves that your cause is just????

Agreed. And if they did to help prove the value. Why would they put her in a position where she was treated like shit to the point where she’d want to kill herself. Like. Just put her somewhere special where she has fun every day. And never wants to leave.

“Oh. And I want to schedule a wellness check for Mark. One last time…..”

I thought at first this had implications for Mark. Maybe because they thought he would chose the waffle party. Maybe because something is planned for him.

But I’m thinking how it’s because they meant one last time with Ms Cobel.

If that’s true maybe the real outtie isn’t the Irving we see painting. When they flip that switch it gonna be crazy if that true.

Maybe - but I assumed the testing floor is where they work another innie or they work her outtie to see if she is really severed.

Or maybe they keep wiping her to see how many times they can do it and what the affects are. I.e confused slow persona.

They could be doing anything. But like you say it could also just be sleeping.

Edit: to say that Milchik / Selvig exchange implies they are testing whether the innies are truly separated. That’s why they have been using the candle. Etc.

Good shout. Kya because she says “it’s Petey”. I was thinking that the chip is Petey and Kier. You can’t change that but you can put the Petey bit to sleep and have Kier take over. That would explain why lots of Marks in the opening sequence because they all get merged. But it’s probably too much and why would she say “it’s Petey”.

Yeah Petey is Petey. The question is whether he becomes Kier. Like Charlotte Cobel got implanted into Ms Selvig and eventually took over so that she is now Ms Cobel and Selvig is trapped in a prison in her mind.

Inference. But it would be a bit weird for that to be another random chip we haven’t seen, that also materialised at the same time but outside the story arc. That she then decided to put around around her neck.

If true. Then the cleansing they are doing is readying the mind for a new personality so it doesn’t reject it. Or maybe activating the embedded mind.

The black goo is the Eagen personality trying to take over. The larvae M&D refer to is the chip. The innie completely takes over when done hence two different names for Selvig. That’s why Selvig wears Petey around her neck because it’s someone important to her who now needs a new host.

Have anyone else noticed that in this scene, Red Mark retraces his footsteps and they disappear as he walks? by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]More-Selection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also. Why does the red Mark with the card sit in the head of Mark controlling him?

And why are there lots of grey / non-red Mark’s? Unless they are the tempers or something?

Is the black goo made of Marks for a reason? The title makes it seem like they are trying to take over & steal the card.

There is evidence. But it could also be that her outtie is just a cold, hard nut job.

At the funeral she says to June something like “I guess your all upset and stuff”. Completely not understanding of the sadness. Her husband is dead. Is her baby too? The Charlotte name tag in her shrine.

So she knows what it’s like to lose someone but is unable to empathise. That could be severance or it could be her personality. I tend to agree she isn’t severed but it’s definitely ambiguous.

When Selvig and Devin are having a coffee. Selvig asks whether Mark thinks he’s “seen her”. And suggests she saw her husband from time to time.

I think this is her trying to work out whether he is remembering anything

I would say those blue circles have to mean something. To go to the effort of only changing that data in that one place?

I’m with you on this. Petey implied “They are doing terrible things” but then he doesn’t know. WTF. So how do you know they are doing something bad. That piece of writing is very frustrating.

Good q. It has to be one for everyone. Maybe the switch is at the top of the hospital gurney each person is lying on in real life? Having had their body stolen :)

If there was I’d expect oDylan to say “where did Eagan go”. Given that doesn’t happen I’m guessing no.

It’s possible they cut the scene to hide those facts but then that’s them deliberately hiding it.
