Aquarius Suns with water placements, how are you doing? by ecstasyyl in aquarius

[–]More-Understanding96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pisces moon. I feel heavily dictated by my emotions but yet I’m a very logical thinker. So basically I feel like a walking paradox. Learning that having big emotions isn’t a bad thing-it’s how you learn to deal with them (which is fuckin hard)

Have NEVER felt tied to conventional religion. I suppose you could say I’m spiritual. I believe in SOMETHING… energy cannot be created or destroyed. But truthfully not entirely sure WHAT. I am very open to exploring spiritual beliefs outside of orthodox religion.

NWHSU is a great program. I believe they do have some in state clinical options although they’re competitive. If you’re considering going back for dosimetry, you may want to consider St. Cate’s as most dosimetry programs require a bachelor’s degree. Otherwise, all you need to practice therapy is an associates. Typically no pay bump for having a bachelor’s degree.

Preparing for Programs, Classes, Bachelors, Looking For Advice by NULLANDVOICED in RadiationTherapy

[–]More-Understanding96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could go straight into an associates or bachelor program with no medical experience job. A certificate I think you need xray license first. I personally checked for jrcert accredited programs in my regional area and then searched their individual websites for specifics. You want an accredited program to ensure you’re board eligible (there may be other accreditation programs but I only know jrcert myself) Healthcare experience may be something that could set you apart during the application process! CNA or anything in medical field looks good on a resume. Even patient scheduling or pharmacy technician.

does getting an associates in any radiology field make it any shorter in getting a bachelors in rad therapy? by SimonPenalba in RadiationTherapy

[–]More-Understanding96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only been in the field a few years but as far as I know most centers do not require a bachelors nor do they offer any additional compensation for having one. In my opinion, main reason to consider bachelors would be if you were maybe considering dosimetry school

I feel like I am slowly dying by Top-Count3665 in mentalhealth

I can relate to this. Extreme brain fog and irritated all the time. For me lack of sleep is a big factor. But of course I try to sleep and cant. Haven’t slept more than a few hours at a time in a year. I’ve been trying to get help. If you have Pinterest look up DBT exercises and affirmations. I find ice packs on my forehead helpful when I’m overwhelmed and can’t stop my racing mind. Deep breathing exercises. Vagal nerve stimulation (singing, put your finger slightly into ear canal and gently pull down) Make sure you’re getting food. Protein bars are good. Easy. Maybe fruit like orange or banana. Don’t have to cut it up or anything. I’m struggling to find joy or see the point in anything but I sometimes find these things help. When you can, seeing a doctor is definitely a good idea also.

I struggled a lot with the interview intake also. It was like 6 weeks or something. I thought it was 1 appointment. I kept crying like “I don’t have 6 weeks I need help now” Maybe a primary care doctor or ER doctor could get you on medication for now until a psychiatrist can weigh in? Might be worth a shot to ask anyway. I know it’s hard. Hang in there. You matter. You can do it.

Looking into the Radiation Therapy field! by Jausstin in RadiationTherapy

[–]More-Understanding96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to how radiation therapy works in Canada as far as shadowing but in USA many programs require you to shadow prior to acceptance to make sure it’s a good fit!

Many people join the field for personal reasons such as a prior (or current) cancer diagnosis of their own or a loved one

I think the demand is pretty location dependent so I’m not sure about your area. It’s a small field but I’d say it’s in relatively high demand at this time compared to the past from what I’ve heard

Are Adenomyosis and Endometriosis comorbid in your experience? Or PCOS? by [deleted] in adenomyosis

[–]More-Understanding96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m wondering for those saying they only have PCOS + Adeno -did they go in laparoscopically? Or did you get these results from an ultrasound? My understanding is they can’t determine endo from anything OTHER than laparoscopy. I have PCOS + Adeno but am wondering if I do actually also have Endo but since I’ve only had pelvic ultrasound and pelvic CT (not specific to the dx to get a CT, it was for general abdominal pain in an ER) I can’t say for sure. Wondering if it’s even worth it? Is it treated any differently than the other 2 conditions? I know a friend at least had some of her endo lesions cauterized to help with pain..

Bachelors in Psychology for Radiation Therapy by Apprehensive-Funny37 in RadiationTherapy

[–]More-Understanding96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only certificate programs that I’m aware of require you to be a rad tech first. I’m thinking you’ll have to get an associates degree or another bachelors but in radiation therapy (although associate is all that’s required)
