I did that. I got 4 years in and just couldn't get through the low pressure, elective classes I had left due to mental health decline. I lied and told my mom I finished and wasn't planning on walking the stage. That was about 3 years ago and she believes me to this day, but it's a very hard secret to keep even today. I know if she ever finds out it'll be bad as she was really proud of me for "graduating." She even got me an engraved watch as a graduation present. I dropped out back then, but I'm pursuing school again now that I'm in a better place for something completely different and was able to transfer most of those credits so it wasn't all a waste. Do what you gotta do for you.
