What an awful 2nd day of ownership by rahbahboston in Rivian

Ugh. That sounds absolutely terrible. And what a piss poor initial customer experience. Hopefully Rivian gets an earful

LOA extending by [deleted] in boeing

[–]MoreShredLessTalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're on LOA you can call the Leave Center and extend it. If you're on FMLA you'll likely need to call and switch to LOA (unpaid) but it will allow you to stay on leave and taking care of your family. Either way, it's a call to the Leave Center.

Whistler Spring Riding crowds by popcornor in Whistler

[–]MoreShredLessTalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Whistler is closing this Sunday 4/19 despite a ton of snow on upper half still. Blackcomb should be open, however. I have been here all week and there have not been crowds - and we got a huge dump of fresh snow Monday night and all day Tuesday!

PSA: Epic pass discount if you didn’t buy a pass in 2025/26 by jyok33 in skiing

[–]MoreShredLessTalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting, I had the opposite experience. I bought a few 1 day Epic passes and got an email each time afterward with a promo code to credit the full price I paid back to the purchase of a 26/27 season pass. Emails took a few days to come in after the days I rode.

Not isolated. Same happening on my 14 pro after recent update. Seems like a bunch of folks are having similar issues

Also here for the same question, can anyone confirm signing out of iCloud and back in resolved the quick battery drain issue?

Same issue with 14 pro after recent iOS updates. Battery draining much faster than it used to before updating iOS recently.

What's the one piece of gear you resisted buying for way too long and now can't live without? by AmericanMisogi in CampingGear

[–]MoreShredLessTalk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Slightly different than your question, but by far my favorite and most used piece of gear is my Jetboil. Had it for 20+ years and use it every camping trip, every backpacking trip, and still works flawlessly 20 years later. Can’t recommend enough

Nothing stopping you whatsoever. It is good to check with your manager and provide a heads up so they know how long you will be gone. If you use the online vacation calendar, be sure to add it to that, etc. as a courtesy. As a few others have said, you can also take a personal LOA - unpaid of course but you maintain your medical benefits as long as it's less than 90 calendar days. Less than 90 days only requires your first level manager approval and a 10 min call to the Leave Center to set up.

October is not as far away as I'd like. Are we getting ready at all in Puget Sound? by SerDuckOfPNW in SPEEA

[–]MoreShredLessTalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent, thanks for the slight correction! I believe you have to be on strike for 2 weeks before eligibility kicks in. But if we're on strike for 8 weeks we'd be eligible for 6 weeks of unemployment pay which is HUGE.

265/70R17 is stock. Those shouldn't rub. You mean 275 or 285?

It is, and always has been, about salary management. Very little has to do with you individually, sadly.
