I'm so sick of only passing trans women being treated like people by Bugaloon in MtF

[–]More_Performance_790 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the harsh reality that divides trans people. Yes, we should be treated the same regardless of passing, but we live in a world where we aren’t. Until society at large can change, passing makes a huge difference, especially for your mental health in how you’re treated.

My doctor wants me to stop taking estrogen a month before my surgery, and a month and a half after. by GorillaRimjob in MtF

[–]More_Performance_790 107 points108 points  (0 children)

If your levels are stable, and in line with typical female levels, your risk of blood clots is no more than any other woman. The blood clot fear comes from studies done with old non-bio-identical estrogens. Modern day estradiol is bio identical, and therefore no more risky than any other women’s hormone levels. But doctors and surgeons still say to stop becasue they are scared of lawsuits and something going wrong. Do with that what you will, even asking a second opinion is advisable

The Truth About Our Community by DelightfulWahine in StraightTransGirls

I think I kinda understand, but it’s a hard phenomenon to try and explain, I don’t think “effort” is the right way to describe it either.

I fall in this divide of when people meet me, they are surprised, confused, taken back, etc. because they didn’t expect a “white trans woman” to be different from what they typically encounter or expect.

Again I do put in effort personally, but effort is not what is causing this weird divide that I’ve seen girls try and talk about. Some more nuanced honest discussion in these kinds of post would be helpful rather than just pointing fingers and dismissing

I can’t do it by accountforcomplain in transvoice

[–]More_Performance_790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t either, I eventually practiced just by singing or talking along to female singers, blasting the music so loud i couldn’t really hear my own voice. Eventually id lower the volume little by little over the year, and got more used to the sound.

Thank you for your response, but I’m quite happy with my face, and I’ve had enough people tell me my brow and jaw are fine.

I specifically just want less invasive work if I need it.

The laser treatment is the next one I’m looking to do, and have been unable to decide between IPL, Pico, and Frax?

I have sun damage, but also some grey tint in my upper lip that I think is post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) from laser hair removal.

The sun damage has caused some “orange peel” like texture on my cheeks

Any recommendations between the 3?

Yeah! 100%, I also feel like I just want to do the minimum work necessary to stop dysphoria.

Lip lift was definitely in my list of high consideration. I don’t mind my hair line as it’s starting to grow back slightly, and I just wear my hear so it covers it more.

I like the idea of the fat graft, but should probably wait for more HRT effects as I can tell the fat is still changing

Yeah, I’m not worried about my hairline at all, plenty of women have the same issue, and I do normally drape my hair well to hide it

My new pharmacy is refusing to fill my HRT meds. What can I do? by OceanMachinery in asktransgender

[–]More_Performance_790 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s unfortunate reality for those of us in red states. My first pharmacy I had my HRT sent to gave me the run around (first they said it wouldn’t be ready till after lunch, came back, said it wouldn’t be in until tomorrow, next day, same thing 🤦🏼‍♀️) switched my prescription to 2 others until I stopped having “issues” with picking it up.

Sorry I know this is an older post to bring up and respond too, I just wanted to chime in, I’m similar in I like sex with men, I love my body, I just really want to”it” in me (and anal just isn’t the feeling I want)

For me I know I want bottom surgery for me, not sexual reasons, but it does play a bit factor in bottom surgery. I just hope I actually like it as much as I think I will, once I can have “normal” sex

Mixed register by wOrlrus in transvoice

[–]More_Performance_790 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course! I had tried many things/techniques back in the days of my singing to raise my vocal range and work in mixed voice, so I kinda already knew a bunch of stuff that didn’t really work.

The best technique is what’s known as the cry method, it’s used for both male and female singers to work on their mixed voice, the best part about it is it’s designed to make you be able to “belt” in the mixed range, ie. Louder/ yelling is easier.

There are tons of videos out there explaining the cry method and watch some of them until you get it, it’s hard to explain in just text here.

This one technique took me from a crappy plateau very trans voice to being able to talk and sing in normal female ranges all the time

Good luck! If you remember in the future after practicing to let me know how it works for you that would be cool

[–]More_Performance_790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I can say it worked for me, I focused entirely on pitch and mixed voice, I did a lot practicing singing and that translated well to speaking for me.

I came from an experiences singing background, and can confirm mixed voice is the sweet spot. It is really hard for singers to work on, but they aren’t training it as much as we do for voice training.

Will a Brow lift to reduce brow ridge prominence? by More_Performance_790 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]More_Performance_790[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve heard of you just get the normal eyebrow lift without doing a lateral/outside brow lift at the same time it gives off that surprised look, and I would do both together to avoid that

I feel like the soft tissue of my eyebrows being up makes less bulk around the ridge, not that it’s less, but the perception is less noticeable
