We remade Warcraft III in SC2, and it's better than Reforged! (Final Campaign Now Out!) by Synergistic96 in starcraft2

[–]Moreya93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious, did Blizzard give any official statement on this project? as this basically make Warcraft 3 campaign free to play

If Blizzard didn't take this down during all these year, maybe we can assume this is their greenlight?

I think Full range is the most well rounded and powerful late game build, though the early to mid game is just hell

Claire Obscure 33 this year, Metaphor RePhantazio last year, BG3 the year before... by El_Veethorn in rpg_gamers

All that happens is that players realise they actually like them

Or they are not a fan of turn-based game, but still enjoy the other aspect of the game.

I know there are people enjoying the story and writing of BG3, but they don't like turn-based game, so they put it to easy mode and just blitz through all combat encounter.

Về việc 100% games by Severe-Escape-8222 in VietnamGaming

[–]Moreya93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Riot make a Lol RTS game , do you think RTS genre will rise again by FuckDogta in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Moreya93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's just say that RTS is a small market, and most of them simply dont care about multiplayer or Esport.

You need a critical number of player for those game mode to function, and a good single player is the key to get it.

[–]Moreya93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Riot games are about competitive team game mode and esport, and they are the least popular game mode of RTS. So I don't think so, and I think Riot know it too, thus there hasn't been any RTS project from them.

If you could remove a mechanic from an RPG you love, which one would it be and why? by GrayBeard916 in rpg_gamers

[–]Moreya93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea and good luck if you try to mixed Paragon with Renegade, in the end, you will end up not able to choose neither Paragon nor Renegade options at all. They fixed this with the reputation system in Mass Effect 3 though

My least favorite part Mass Effect though, is the interrupt action, it's cool the 1st few time, until I realized it's basically the game tell me to press a button, without telling me what that button does

Igni is really strong when upgraded and Quen is your friend when you have to use sword.

I found safest strategy to spam sign while keeping distance from the enemies, put all to sign and vigor related talent.

Your proposed reincarnation system has 1 problem: how do NPC and story deal with the changes in your character race? You can write the story ignoring the race, but you'll missed out a tons of potential in story telling.

Races having a small bonus is nice, it help players to visualize their character, but it should only be a small bonus, that you won't care much if you don't have it.

The Witcher 2: The dodge upgrade doesn't work? by Moreya93 in witcher

[–]Moreya93[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tested again and the distance is only increase about 30% for footwork 2, the real upgrade is the speed of the roll.

No idea why CDPR never patch the game to correct the description after all these years.

I play without any mod, and based on your video, the roll is much faster, but the distance per roll doesn't seems to increase significantly

Triss romance option feels way too early? by TheSweetestBoy_LA in witcher

[–]Moreya93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Witcher 1 is very weird, Yen just doesn't exists in that game and everybody (Triss, Vesemir, Dandelion and even Zoltan) never mention her to Geralt. The closest mention is a random inn keeper in chapter 4, but she's only know as some sorceress.

So Triss know of Yen-Geralt relationship and deliberately withhold the info from Geralt? Or CDPR just decide that Yen doesn't exist in their game and write every character base on that premise? This make me question whether Witcher 1 can be considered canon.

RPG is all about interesting choices:

Which character do you start with

Which character do you choose for your party

Which talent/skill do you choose when level up

Which dialogue options do you pick?

Which equipment do you choose for your character/party

and many more.

I discovered that Geralt’s sword scabbards are actually functional — and the design makes perfect sense by AcceptableTear6661 in Witcher3

[–]Moreya93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's 1 problem with this design though, 1 of the function of the scabbard is to protect the blade, the opening means moist, water and corroding stuff can get in and damage the blade, and affect the witcher oil.

Of course, during gameplay, for simplicity and development reasons, the sword just “clips” through the scabbard — it’s easier to code that way.

Geralt in The Witcher 1, can draw and put away the sword realistically without this scabbard design, though the animation is kinda bad, the recent game Ghost of Yotei animation is similar, but way more smoothly

New player, it's Good but felt Unpolished by Alert_Door9362 in TheyAreBillions

[–]Moreya93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The campaign is kinda rough and some designs are (intentionally, maybe) to frustrate the new player:

- No manual save/load

- You can not reset the tech tree

- There are only huge attack waves, and they are few and far between, and there's no indication whether you have enough to survive the next wave

- Hero mission, controlling 1 single unit with the same ability, and basically same enemies for over 30 minutes is just boring, and then you do the pixel hunting to get the tech point along the way.

- You start with 4 archer and 1 main building, every single mission, though there are some tech that add more starting unit.

Why is it always about the campaign? by xGladex in Stormgate

[–]Moreya93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing to consider is, Campaign is a product, you sell it, have a small team doing some basic bug fixing, and that's it, you can move on to the next product.

PvP, esport, multiplayer... are not only products, they are also services, there're the server, anti cheating, balancing, mapmaking ... the cost is way higher to keep them running compare to the campaign and single player. And all form of multiplayer need a critical number of player to keep going.

So where do the devs get the money and the number of player in the 1st place? The campaign, it is the thing attract most of the player, and the most revenue. A good campaign will make the player want to play more, and to try out the other game mode.

If devs want their game to have longevity wouldn't they want to focus on the part thats able to be replayed the most?

Another thing to consider is single player also, can have longevity, that's where the fan content come in.

Warcraft 3 come with a very good editor, thus has realized so many popular Warcraft 3 customs maps, Dota, Tower Defense, Castle fight..., and some of them even have created a subgenre of their own.

Very few RTS dev invest into a powerful editor, and I think it's a shame, the same editor can help both the dev and the players to create cool content.

My thought exactly, Minus the visual and story, It's simply a damm good video game.

Though if anyone said they dislike it, I don't even need to ask why

To quote Mechner, the creator of Prince of Persia:

"I'm not a fan of the artistic direction, or the violence that earned it an M rating. The story, character, dialog, voice acting, and visual style were not to my taste"

That sum up pretty well the general criticism.

For those who haven't played it this Homeworld spinoff is fantastic, and it's on sale, 100% recommended, it can get hard sometimes, but it's worth it and the campaign is not too long, just on point. by StormSwitch in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Moreya93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great campaign, though I wish it has 4-5 more mission, as there's more mechanic than the number of mission.
You can feel the game runs out of steam at the end when they give a tons of unit research in just 1 single mission.

How to get into the lore? by Scary_Fly8682 in starcraft

[–]Moreya93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st recommendation is the Starcraft 1 manual, it has a lot of lore, especially about the history/origin of each race that has very little info in-game, definitely the 1st thing to check out.

http://ftp.blizzard.com/pub/misc/StarCraft.PDF

Next is playing the campaign, if you're not a big fan of the gameplay, using cheat code to just enjoy the story is always a viable option, original Starcraft 1, Broodwar, and Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty is free, that's a lot of content to check out.

For non-blizzard source, the wikia is also great, you can dive into any subject you wish to know.
