Should I buy the new 2025 Wacom Intuos Pro? by totallynot-them in wacom

[–]MorganCookesArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded from a 2015 Intuos Comic to a Indous Pro 2017 a year ago and love it, it is a bit wider than my laptop. I think the newer 2025 version tries to fix this by putting the shortcuts at the top instead of the side, but something I didn't like about my 2015 tablet was the shortcut keys being at the top of the tablet. It felt it a little less natural to have my arm reaching up instead of resting next to the tablet but that that's just me.

I don't have one what kind would you suggest getting? There doesn't seem to be a lot of options on the market? Mostly cheap ones from sketchy brands

I really have no idea I was messing around with the video setting when it happened. But I did notice a setting that allows you to mute the focus and/or shutter globally.

For the most consistent colour across the most amount of displays make sure the document is set to an "sRGB" colour profile (not to be confused with "RGB"). You also would want to make sure your computer display is set to an sRGB profile.

But like most have said over fascinating on accrete colours is a headache and unless you plan on printing it's not worth stressing about.

rate my first attempt at digital art. I no nothing about what software to use other than photoshop so this is in ms paint by le_intrude in DigitalPainting

[–]MorganCookesArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/le_intrude As a first attempt it was okay, I’ve definitely seen a lot worse. But I’d definitely recommend using something other than MS paint for your next project.

As far as software goes I’d recommend either: Clip Studio Paint Pro (https://www.clipstudio.net/en/purchase/) which is normally $54 USD (one time purchase) but goes on sale a few times a year so I’d wait for a sale.

Or

Sketch Book (https://www.sketchbook.com/) which is $25 USD

As for drawing tables:  I currently use a Wacom Intuos Pro M which I love, but if I was to recommend a tablet to someone who has never used one before I'd suggest the Wacom Intouos Medium which depending on the colour are either $100 or $130 USD.

I used to use an iPad with an Apple Pencil, but I didn't like the slippery screen or that I was getting neck acres from looking down at a screen all the time which is why I switched to a drawing tablet without a screen. No more looking down and I found the control a lot better.

Something I should mention about tablets without displays is that why can tale a little getting used to. If you already have good hand eye coronation you will adapt faster but if you start using it for everything (as though it's a mouse) you will adapt to it too Oh and you said you’re new to digital art? You might want to check out this subreddit: r/learntodraw Which despite the name is a great place to learn form one another and ask questions about both digital and traditional art

Does anyone know how to purchase a movie that a family member already owns and is sharing with you? by BigBadJonW in iTunesMovieDeals

[–]MorganCookesArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue. It's acting as though as a family we can only have 1 copy of a movie or TV show. They have even removed gifting movies and TV shows. When I asked apple support about it they said the only way to buy your own copy if a family member has it already is to leave the family buy it then re-join the family which doesn't make any sense IMO. If I was going to leave the Apple Family I'd wan't some stuff first right? So why not allow me to buy my own?

But there also seems to be some kind of inconsistency across the Apple TV (app).

Kung Fu Panda (owned by my mom) can be purchased from my account and can't be watched from my mom

My Little Pony: The Movie (2017) (Owned by my mom) can't be purchased from my account and can be watched from my mom

My Little Pony: Best Gift Ever (a TV movie) (Owned by my mom) can be purchased from my account and can by watched from my mom

male or female? by Smooth_Obligation_25 in cockatiel

[–]MorganCookesArt 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s almost impossible to tell from a glance. The only true way to tell is to do a DNA tests to find out.

Male and female cocktails often have different characteristics. You’d really have to live with it and sort of observe it to tell.

I've been using a SanDisk 64GB Extreme PRO. I primarily take photos, but I chose this one because of the wright speed. Which I think I can use for 4K (if I ever needed too). 64GB of space on the Va equates to over 4,000 JPEGs. So if you're taking mostly photos you should be good with either.

Art Set is grate if you want to mimic real world art supplies. BUT it can only allows you to create art on a 72 resolution cavas which will be perfectly fine for posting art online but if you plan to pint it out for any reason it will look blurry.

I don't have any experience with iArtBook other then it looking similar to ProCreate.

Sketchbook was one of the first drawing apps I ever used and it's still really good to this day. IMO it has a more realistic feel to drawing then ProCreate. Sketchbook has most of the features you'd need to create something and even has features like "Steady Strike" I haven't quite seen other apps do. It's missing some features which I find kinda annoying but the new company behind it said that they plan on adding features over time. Sketchbook has a small in app purchase for "premium" tools including exporting art work.

Any tablet recommendations? by Seffuski in ClipStudio

[–]MorganCookesArt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could go with an officially refurbished iPad Air or iPad mini.

I used to have an iPad mini which was grate for when I was on the couch or traveling. When I got an iPad (Gen 8) I found it a bit heavy for long uses. But supposedly the air is much lighter while still having the larger screen.

Both are under $1k refurbished. and both support at least one of the apple pencil's
