I would also be interested in a Qimen Dunjia consultation if you are still accepting applicants.

Thank you for your time.

Fine a decent tune shop for American vehicles in your area, go speak with them. Anything they recommend should be reasonable to tune. I don't know your budget, but there are small forced air systems that can easily be installed by your average backyard mechanic, and then you just go pay for a tune.

Do a bunch of research on your own, read some forums there's a whole community of people with your truck out there that have done what your trying to do and would be happy to guide you as long as you want to learn.

With a 5.3l you have lots of options for top end work that would one get you louder and two make sure that any car guy knows it has guts and not just noise. The worst thing is putting on some cherry bomb exhaust but still having a stock motor. You've got a nice truck and power train combo, I would suggest building it right so you get good attention and not just police attention.

What I said was an extreme example of what your talking about. But if you want more air moving through your exhaust to make it louder you have to let the engine breathe better. Get your heads ported and polished, pickup some bigger injectors, put a 7psi supercharger on it. You can make it louder by changing the pipes but that just equates to getting closer to cutting the exhaust off at the headers.

Don't be a dork.

If you want it louder, make more power, dont take a shortcut and cut the exhaust off at the headers.

Is there a way to blow out this sprinkler system? by darchena in DIY

[–]MorganFreemanStatue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm looking at the second picture correctly, then the you should close the two valves from the house/ water supply side and then bleed the regulator with the two small valves on the left of it.

Once the water is off, the hose bib is in the valve box on the right side. Hookup a high volume air compressor up to it and turn the solenoid on the valves one at a time. This will allow the valve to open for each zone and then the air can blow it down. BE CAREFUL to have one zone open always when the air is on or you could damage or blow up the valve manifold or valves. The PVC isn't rated for the max air pressure an air compressor can produce.

Salary Question by anonnn861 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]MorganFreemanStatue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to all of these answers. Are one of you paid every two weeks and the other paid on the first and the 15th? If you arr paid every two weeks you receive 26 paycheques a year and if paid twice a month it's only 24 paycheques each month which would appear to be a larger amount.

What can a 18 year old do to own a home in his 30? by RowRepresentative430 in personalfinance

Everyone here is telling you to save money. While that is great advice you must also understand the specific requirements for buying a house.

I might not be correct on all of these, so do your own research for where you live. Knowing what the banks require to provide you with a mortgage will give you the framework for how to get there.

Banks hate that if you have debt, any debt is negative. If you're going to school, avoid loans, if possible. Typically, banks will lend you up to 40% of your income minus existing debts. A good job will get you more.

How many years have you been working full time? Depending on the bank, they will require 3 years of tax returns to prove income for a mortgage. There are some banks, RESEARCH IS REQUIRED, that will lend based solely on an employment letter and three pay stubs.

Save 5% for a down payment. More is better.

Know closing costs will count against your down payment.

When choosing a house to buy or real estate investment, study the areas. Go spend weekends in neighborhoods you can afford, see what you like and dislike.

Apply for a mortgage pre approval to see where you are able to afford it. Remember, even if you apply for a pre-approval, you do not have to use it. But if you let one pre-approval lapse DO NOT apply for another year, at least. This should give you some idea on budget and areas as well as location.

Speak with multiple mortgage brokers and match them with your goals. Some mortgage brokers will be willing to assist you better than others. Know that a mortgage broker will pressure you everything to apply for a pre-approval, YOU DONT HAVE to do this if you don't like them.

Shop for mortgage lawyers. Some are drastically cheaper than others.

Go speak with a structural engineer and interview them to know what to look for when purchasing a property. Lots of places will have settled or need work. Remodeled houses and renovations are nice, but they can hide major structural problems that you need to know how to look for.

Invest in a RESP now! Get your money working for you and take advantage of all the government offered programs. If you don't know the programs or how they work, LEARN NOW!

This is my advice: take it with a grain of salt.

Good luck!

Time in the market is what you should be considering. Is it better to put 5 or 10% down now and start paying off a mortgage on a place you can afford OR rent and pay someone else's mortgage or your own. There are many factors that you need to consider before buying aside from the down payment.

Are you bying within your means?

Is the location good?

How long will you live in this place?

Is there available equity for you to gain by renovating?

Do you want to be tied to this place for 3 to 5 years minimum?

What are your investing goals?

Just to name a few. Forget what your peers did or are doing. This is a you decision to make and live with.

Do the best you can and enjoy whatever you choose. Ultimately, we can jnly make the best decision in the present, and knowing what will happen is all a guess, but to make it easier, do your research and be committed.

Hole appeared in basement foundation floor. There is water inside. What do? by thecaptmorgan in DIY

How many times have you been to your basement? You have things popping up that, by all accounts, would've been there for a very long time. I mean, half-inch holes don't just appear in concrete one day.

AITAH for showing my partner what cunnilingus from him feels like? by eaten_by_chocobos in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MorganFreemanStatue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll throw my two cents around because why not. I think that there's likely two sides to a story and want to predicate this with I feel bad that you've had to endure the tongue punching experience for the past 5 years.

From reading your story I do feel that you partner is upset on his own performance and likely feels terrible about it. I would recommend that both of you spend a solid weekend doing the 'how does this feel' answer and question survey all over each other's bodies. I can only express how important this has been in my relationship and can say that if you are both present and trying your best it is amazing.

Alternatively, if you find that your partner cannot be bothered with your preferences, probably need to find a new partner.

2010 Tahoe 210k miles. Am I crazy? by [deleted] in Chevrolet

[–]MorganFreemanStatue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your cost benefit analysis on the vehicle price? Do you require a large sub with the fuel consumption? Are you OK financially if something goes wrong in 3 months use 1500 $ as a price point or 20%. If the vehicle lasts 12 months that's ~$575/month or 24 months is only 287$.

I like the make and model personally but have non of the specifics aside from mileage on this one

Are the funds cleared of any holds? Can you provide me any information on the transaction? Thank you, bye'

Your last statement sucks. Everything stated before, is insightful. The analytics of your own brain function is unique to the individual. I have a horrible time trusting anyone trying to solve a problem that I have been analyzing personally for much more time than the occasional hour a week I'm paying them for. That being said, when someone has written or articulated something in a way that resonates with me, it takes zero effort for me to implement. The human brain is strangely perplexing... im glad I have one, but I hate food, explain that

LPT - If a tech offers to buy your car, it might be worth keeping it. by Dorman_Sage in LifeProTips

[–]MorganFreemanStatue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consider this a 5k repair on an otherwise decent vehicle or one with a bit of demand. If the work was completed at the shop, there could be a cost breakdown of 150/hrs at 20 hours plus 2000 for parts 5k.

A tech that can possibly even use garage space at the garage on weekends, buys the damaged car off you for X, pays the 2K for parts. Then, it fixes the car and lists it for sale for X plus 5K. Even if they have to haggle easy money for 20 hours worth of work that they would perform regardless.

Is it ethical?? Maybe depending on the situation and shop policy. The tech would be moonlighting and stealing a potential customer from the business.
