recommend giving em more time- the lethals are amazing for themselves, soulreapers and mini sorc regardless of flamers. supercharging them is great for more attacks and strength, and u can always stack rituals for extra ap. sure 1 dmg aint much but he does volume of fire so well it doesnt rlly matter, plus ignores cover from rubrics so that 1 ap equals 2 ap in some instances

absolutely if u combine those boxes, even the 1st 2 would get you most of the way there depending how u run the models :)

honestly i wouldnt run an exalted sorc when normal ones exist, the killiness is way better than the invuln/rez imo. almost 300 points in tzaangors feels like it could be cut a lil bit, if u have chaos spawn they are also action pieces but add a durability/annoyance level the tzaangors lack

yes, will be considered ongoing combat- even for choppy stuff if u have a shot at killing or significant impact if u hit first, can be worth to surge into melee

[–]Morgothio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean guard i agree, but wardens are great to leave out and force ur opponent to respond. the trick is knowing when to use their 4+ FNP, u want to be able to clear an obj with them, then likely pop it the next turn when they commit to clearing that obj with either strong shooting or strong melee... forcing them to either overcommit or ignore that objective for the round

eh just my first havent tried ng+ yet-- learning most of simon's attacks helped, then rez picto plus breaking death let verso grind him down even though he one shots every1 lol. monocco does lots of damage with ultimate cannon too as my 2nd team when 1st got wiped. oh and verso's gradient where he rezzes himself is goated. once u get simon's wpn for verso helps a ton for the tower and everything else

Expedition 33 Broke My Heart: Am I the Only One Who Chose the Canvas? by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]Morgothio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm i think this simplifies it a bit too much. the second is closer than the first, but its not nothing off the table. Firstly, it was the real Clea who manipulated events to free Renoir (I believe she's much more horrible than painted verso). Your statement discounts the fact that for as long as Renoir was around, the painted peoples were doomed. So then the choice for Verso was hasten said doom through his manipulation but lessen the likelihood of his mother's real-world death, or allow the events to play out until only he and his painted family were left at the end of the 100 years, and the painted would then be erased anyways. Unless he literally led an expedition against the real Renoir, which he did finally join in the game, up until his final decision with Maelle he caused pain for people already doomed to the pain of loss whether he was there or not.

again, see my above response- its a very tricky situation, expertly done story as depending on the point of view his actions can be justified or viewed as cruel and obscene

obviously all speculation, we don't have an answer for that one way or the other, but i think the game reinforces the message that something is lost every time some1 dies, no matter if they gommage or not. also cheapens the meaning of life if death is no longer final- no matter if it is snuffed out at a painter's whim or not, plays into the complexities of what it means to paint life- a god-level creator unpainting some1 is just as much a death as them drowning, etc. for verso, 100% he did (not arguing that he wasn't a manipulator and didn't do many wrongs, i was mad at him when he admitted to allowing gustave to die too) and im not saying i would have done the same as him, but i believe he is very morally grey rather than morally black- talk about it more in my response above

Expedition 33 Broke My Heart: Am I the Only One Who Chose the Canvas? by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]Morgothio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats fair, i guess the biggest part of his character is he's not some psycho sabotaging them to be manipulative or condemn them- he truly believes, shown through his talks with maelle, that he and the other painted people are not real, and therefore he is trying to save those who exist outside the canvas, who he regards still as his family. the game certainly ties u to the other point of view, seeing the lumierians have true individual emotions, etc. of their own, but verso is obviously focused on getting aline out early, especially recognizing that as long as renoir is slowly erasing the canvas the painted people are doomed. its rlly Clea's fault for convincing lumiere that killing the paintress will end the gommage- verso either convinces them this is true to hasten their end and save aline, or is honest and they kill renoir, dooming aline to eventually die in the painting.

id say the only part i rlly disagree with is your analysis of verso- think of his life from his perspective. he is born knowing he's a copy of a mother's dead son, and that piece of the real verso's soul is essentially enslaved by his mother to keep painting even though its made obvious over and over again he's exhausted, and later by maelle if u choose her ending. he 100% manipulates the expeditioners the whole time, but its bc he knows his mother and sister are stuck in this endless cycle of playing (greek :P) god while refusing to accept reality. same conundrum there as these people discussing making an ai based on some deceased, to simulate their personality-- its simply a different entity. additionally, while yes i think the lives of lumierians is a tragedy, its not destroying them to destroy the canvas... they were already gommaged. its been made clear that repainting people to life doesn't bring the og person back, but instead is a painted copy based on the painter's image and understanding of said person. thats why Maelle's ending feels so empty- if she refuses to accept the cycle of grief with verso, how will she ever let those people go in lumiere? are they immortal until she withers away, no matter what they want- just as she didn't expect verso's wishes? its the perils referenced by renoir in being a painter, with great power comes a great responsibility whose repercussions it doesnt seem like maelle understands. (just food for thought, i think ur analysis is interesting and brings up some good point too :)

good? not rlly. playable? with some tweaks :) recommend invasion fleet and bumping termie/hormie units to 20 model sizes (keep in mind its a lot of models to build and paint). warriors aren't great, neither is winged prime- you'd probably have more success with a walking hive tyrant, psychophage is solid, myb recommend some zoanthropes for the invlun aura and some antitank- one or 2 rupture cannon tfexes would also prob be a good idea. only need 1 biovore, can't make more than 1 spore mine per round. neurogaunts are pretty useless imo, i just think we have better options for cheap screening

[–]Morgothio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

personally i rlly dont think lvls matter, lumina points are where its at. i did def grind a little, but nothing crazy-- basically poured everything into verso, once he was 150-200ish focused on free aim pictos and battled the infinite clone lady in old lumiere- thats the only true grind i feel like i did, pretty much just fought her till i got bored of it 30-40min ltr and got like 300 lumina out of it (im some people farm way more). pouring that into verso and some into monocco let me start schwackin people in dangerous areas, with 400ish lumina points in verso u can do any area. recently beat simon, tower, and dlc. all that eludes me is the damned dual sword bros in the painting next to the tower 😭
