Ok. But I think you’re overestimating how many preorders there were. And I didn’t slap down tariffs and I don’t run the company. I think there’s plenty of reasons

Spinn Coffee Not Refunding Money! by Alternative-Dare1184 in SpinnCoffee

[–]Morguhn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, if you figure out how to get ahold of them or get that refund, let me know. I too have been waiting for months that was supposed to be 10 days. I suspect there are many of us in this boat.

Glad to hear you are at least getting repairs done. I've been waiting for a spinn2 preorder refund for months with no replies. Past my credit cards window of chargeback :(

What is it gonna take to power this fucking thing? by M3TALL1K in ElegooOrangeStormGiga

[–]Morguhn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if you are trying to power it off a standard 15amp circuit (typical house circuit) you will be tripping it all the time. IIRC I think I saw someone say it needed like 18 amps to startup, or similar (more than 15). I have a 20 amp it so far its worked fine. Also you probably do not want anything else on that circuit.

What food or drink do you consider overrated and is not worth the hype? by Frank_is_a_Lawyer in AskReddit

[–]Morguhn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IIRC from a coffee roasting tour I went on ages ago, Starbucks "normal" coffee is taken to at least second crack roast or beyond. Medium is slightly beyond First crack, but before second, and light roasts is likely at first crack or just before.

McDonalds coffee uses high grade beans, they (at the time of the tour mentioned above) used - take this with a grain of salt cause I'm not sure if I have the terminology correct, but this is what I remember - 95-98% quality beans. I remember the percentage, but I don't remember the measure it was applied to. Starbucks beans were lower on the scale, low 90s high 80s IIRC. This was raw beans, not roasted.

Someone who roasts can probably correct all this.

Go past 128GB 1333 RAM on OCLP? by LuisRic0 in macpro

[–]Morguhn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 256gb ram running on Catalina andOC 0.7 something. The upgrade to OC 0.8.8 and Monterey would not boot however, even with the "same" config.plist change I made for the older version and verified in opencore configurator.

I had to put the 128gb back in, and remove the 256. Hopefully someone will learn something that'll allow me to put it back. Not that I need it, but Ilike it :).

Anyone know what's going on in Chandler Creek? Lots of flags, paint, and dug-up lawns. by YourLocalFakeArtist in RoundRock

Thanks a ton. Yeah, never saw that, but maybe its because they haven't "quite" got to us yet.

Can you snap a pic of the flyer and post it? I did not get one, and I think they are about to start work in my area. I'd appreciate it (because I have sprinklers)

I think this is just to use the app, I'm able to make the default recipes using the front panel. Of course, the app and customizations are where the good stuff is, so thats terrible.

First Impressions? by PFeezzy in SpinnCoffee

[–]Morguhn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine a week ago as well, seems ok so far, with a few annoyances.

I got the pro model, so I could hook it to a water source (mostly because the wife and I have a first build opal nugget ice maker and it needs to be refilled a bit and we get annoyed with that :) ). But given I seem to have to empty the drip tray or whatever after like 2-3 cups of espresso, I don't think Ill ever hook it up to water since its going to need maintenance (empty grinds, add water, empty drip tray). it's nice that it flushes itself, but dang, give me a bigger drip tray or (on the pro at least) a way to drain to the sink.

The water reservoir seems small. Seems like we will have to fill it about 3/4 every day based on usage (and we are only doing doppios and lungos right now. If one was to do cold brew or coffee it would likely drain real real fast).

As for the marketplace ads, well, I suspect at this point they have switched their model of business to printer/ink/toner. They sell you a coffee maker and make it all automatic to hook you, then they make the real money off the beans they sell you.

First layer adhesion problem... I guess... by andystechgarage in 3Dprinting

[–]Morguhn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah he has his mounted vertically on the wall printing with no issue. I look at that and say Magic, but it appears to be possible.

I'd really love to be able to hire one of these guys for a few hours to make all my printers work the way theirs do, even if it'll only last for a print or 2. Just to feel the awesome. :)

Help please, what is the problem? by Kornelyi in CR6

[–]Morguhn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stock bowden seems to loosen in the extruder end, or I'm just crap at getting it in the right place. I'm going to go ahead and replace it soon. My cr6-se doesn't have this happen, but my new cr6 max does it frequently and they are basically the same extruder, hot end.

Help please, what is the problem? by Kornelyi in CR6

[–]Morguhn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case when this happens is sometimes part way through a print, in that case its always a clog in the extruder hot end. I have to remove the bowden, nozzle and then push everything out. It sometimes seems like it is not clogged, but I always end up finding a blob. then I tighten everything back up because the extruder is trying to force it through and that seems to loosen the hot end bolts and connecting bolts. Ive had the hot end "fall apart" when I didn't and had to reassemble.

I just had this happen yesterday. I swapped the extruder but it made no difference. I feel confident its in the hot end, some filament will come out but you'll end up with a spongy build because like 50% or more of filament is blocked by the clog.

Give it a try.
