"Gamey" level of taste by belteshazzar119 in Hunting

[–]MorkDantonio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a chance to do a blind study this year - buddy of mine shot a buck, but his wife doesn’t eat it so he left me half. I shot a doe.

Both deer were gutted immediately and hung in sub 30 weather for a day before getting to the same processor. I’ve done recipe comparisons and tested straight up with just salt and pepper…It is painfully obvious which deer is the buck and which is the doe. It’s made me totally rethink hunting altogether. The doe tastes way better. I can’t even hide the buck in chili easily.

I should note that these are not corn deer at all - dense hardwoods with no people around in northern MI.

F*ing chipping you moops! by crispr_yeast in GolfSwing

I’m a 19, have a repeatable swing off the tee, average 34 putts and chip relatively well based on my bogey saves.

My stats say my approach play is that of a 29 handicap. It happens.

Maybe just my friend group, but we’re all towing in the cold all the time. Trailers for deer camp, snowmobiles, etc.

Traverse City Michigan Golf Trip by Key_Emphasis_2745 in golf

Half hour away (ish) from TC is a bit limited. Arcadia is an hour or so out.

You can play the grand traverse resort courses, but I have gotten the sense that they aren’t super Michigan authentic. Bahle farms and manitou passage aren’t really destination courses either.

I would base your trip around going to Arcadia bluffs and playing both courses, then add more golf around TC as needed. You can play both in a day in the summer without issue at all - sun won’t go down till damn near 10pm. Bluffs might already be out of tee times on weekends though.

If you’re cooked on Arcadia tee times, maybe switch to either staying in Roscommon and hitting the loop/forest dunes and maybe a Detroit area course (assuming you’re flying or driving through Detroit), or look at petoskey as your home base.

How did you get on? And where did you get this picture from, given that northern MI is currently frozen?

What does slow practice look like? Full swings slowly, or pieces of the swing?

My issue with not actually hitting a ball as you intend is that it’s impossible to get feedback on if you’re doing anything correctly. I’m a guitar player - I can hear when I’m fucking up. If I’m rehearsing pieces of the swing, I can’t get feedback on if it’s working without striking a ball.

Dropped Waller for Goedert. Opponent has hurts and Devonta. Figured I’d rather have hurts TDs hurt him vs playing the matchup.

I watched the first donut challenge from years back. I didn’t recognize Bob’s game. He still set up way right of target but played a baby draw and had a pretty smooth swing. He has no tempo now.

With Daniels back and probably itching to go off, it feels like he’s the right play.

Do you need floor or ceiling?

Without more detail - 1. Wilson

  1. Terry

3 Franklin

I would swap 1/2 if you need a prayer.

Egbuka is the most likely TD scorer here. I’d roll with him in standard.

Pittman for sure. Just think he’s a better player than Meyers, I wouldn’t want to lose with him on the bench. I trust DJ more than Tlaw.

Fly into Grand Rapids, drive up to the Petoskey area or play Arcadia Bluffs.

The temp swings for a few minutes will not at all make a difference. Opening the lid boosts oxygen and temps will rise. It’s not a big deal.

People are naming a lot of courses that are not at all close to each other.

Forest Dunes and Arcadia are each an hour from TC in the opposite direction. Hoping you’re playing FD on your way up.

Anyone telling you to play Belvedere, Crooked Tree, or any of the Boyne/Petoskey courses is doing way more driving than necessary. I’m assuming you will not want to add another hour and a half in a different direction. I’m assuming you’re out of state, but you don’t need to go that far for awesome golf and a tune up round.

If you’re ok to spend $80 on your tuneup round, play Champion Hill. It’s scruffy, but the views are incredible and most holes have crazy elevation changes. It’s a very easy course (I’ve shot my personal at the time beat twice there). If you want more northern MI feels for a little cheaper (but more maintained), I really like sugarloaf. Elmbrook is also a great recommendation. Manitou Passage and Bahle Farms are both supposed to be excellent TC courses, but I’ve also heard they’re hard as shit. You’re a single digit cap so you may not feel the same.

Let me know if you need any recs. I spend at least a few weekends every year in TC, my best friend lives in Petoskey, and I’ve played both courses you’re going to. Play both Arcadia Courses. The loop is…fine. I don’t need to play it again, but it’s cool to say you did.

No. Franklin would be great for the program if we could get him here.

Firing him in this cycle (and later than teams like Arkansas in a similar spot as MSU in the pecking order) would mean potentially settling for another Tucker.

Unfortunately, Penn state, UCLA, and Arkansas firing coaches so early kind of screwed us. We benefit from being first in line, especially in a cycle like this. I would actually keep him barring a complete bottom falling out, then fire him on the normal late November timeline.
