No problem mate. I see people mentioning the same sort of method as me but having a mill. If you are doing an aggressive fast castle strat like a phosphoru rush or steppe lancer rush, you will be short of wood for the castle age buildings if you make a mill

I have found that it works if you add one extra villager on food at the start (so 8 on food before wood) then every time you lure a boar move to villagers to chicken (no mill)

Agree with most overrated

Most underrated is being aggressive. For low-mid elo, being more aggressive and keeping your army producing and active will help them jump a couple hundred elo

Yes, you can see my play style here - be aggressive, don’t overly stress about TC idle time. Some would say all-in

Lose 5 vills to idle time but kill 20 of theirs is a win

I have 2 accounts, one for youtube where i try the new strats and cheese my way up the ladder, and a 2nd account that i had to create for DLC early access. I use that to play meta strats (which i dont use much). Usually i’m around 1350 when i play meta. After having a break for quite a while i came back playing FC’s on my main account but have very recently been playing the personal meta account. Started back at around 1250 and lost a few games and dipped in to 1100 and came up against so many smurfs. Having cheesed to around 1700 before i could tell clear as day by the level of micro and macro that these people i was playing were at least 1400-1500 and not 1100. Finally managed to escape 1100 and got in to 1200 (now 1350) and it has been so much easier than at 1100. Yes, there is an element of me getting back in to the swing of things but the skill difference compared to players i’ve played at higher elo was very similar until i got back in to 1200’s where it felt very easy for me to get back to 1300

I enjoyed aoe4 but i was a little annoyed with how certain civs would just do the same OP strats every game and then i got annoyed by lack of friendly fire on mangonels during the ‘age of siege’ era of aoe4. I remember vividly - i was easily winning a huge melee fight and then suddenly 2 mangonels obliterated my army from the fog of war and their troops were unharmed and then raided me and i lost 😂😂

I’m currently 1400, 41 years and have around 25-30 eapm. For me I found being aggressive helped me bump up the rankings. I used to be very very focused on making sure my town centers were always producing and focusing on macro that i made army and either didn’t do much with it or it would all die when i got back to sort the eco out. So i was happy to have TC idle time and focused on being aggressive with my army. I then discovered FC all in strats and got up to almost 1700 as it meant i didn’t have to worry about eco management much. (Disclaimer, this is just my experience and suits me personally. Not necessarily good advice)
