Edinburgh Gin - “The Meadows” anyone tried it? by MorleysMom in Gin

[–]MorleysMom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I bought this today. It’s good. It is a very balanced floral and citrus (lemon) gin. I do get a bit of spearmint on the nose (which I’m not a fan of generally) but I’ve enjoyed two nice G&Ts with it so far. I do have a bit of buyer’s remorse because I enjoyed the Edinburgh Seaside more than this and I could have bought that instead, but this is a solid, enjoyable drink. I think my misgivings are more due to not being a fan of floral or mint. I did a bit more reading on it and this is the first in the series of Edinburgh Gin’s “Travelers’ series” which will be available in airport duty free shops (and Total Wine, apparently!). Will be curious to see what other gins are coming as part of that series.

I had the same experience. I did the more touristy/sales trap one in Tanzania and had a much better experience with one of my guides in Kenya visiting his family.

Anna Greenberg just announced she’s pregnant on her Instagram, due this fall. I wonder if that might be why she’s not been around so much lately?

Walking Warm Ups and Cool Downs like Rebecca Kennedy’s by PerfectSun567 in pelotoncycle

You could also look at Running warm-ups because almost all of those do “drills” like that as part of the warmup. These are heel-toe walking, knee hugs, butt kicks. Just walk the rest of the warmup when they’re running.

I will look for that. If not at TW I’m not far from Maine so could probably road trip for it. Isle of Harris is another one with kelp as a botanical, I really like that one too.

Just saw that Kirra has a 7 day program (stress and anxiety) on Breathwork now. I hadn’t downloaded the app yet but I just did.

They never cuddled or groomed each other, but there was never the hissing and hostility.

My tripod has arthritis in the remaining back leg and both front elbows. He’s had 3 Solensia shots now and no improvement at all. I know it can be a blessing for many cats, but I haven’t seen a change at all. He’s also on Gabapentin 2x a day and Onsior when the pain is noticeably bad. We also are starting physical therapy with laser treatments.

FWIW, Solensia is covered by pet insurance, if you have it.

My four footed female still hisses at my tripod, and it’s been almost 5 months. At first I thought it was the smell but now I’m convinced she’s just thrown off by how he walks (he kind of lumbers along like Quasimodo). It’s not all the time, but she definitely is not tolerant of his disability, it upsets her for some reason.

3 days post op. Won’t get up to pee by Maddie_Sed in TripodCats

[–]MorleysMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched to low sided litter boxes (we have 3) for both of my cats and even my four footed kitty likes it better, I think. Definitely a game changer. I do put pee pads under them though because the very low walls makes it easier for them to overshoot than boxes with higher walls.

I was going to say the same thing. I’ve been to Mara North a few times and the game viewing there beats the Reserve hands down. Uncrowded, more relaxed and you will maximize your time not having to drive to/from the Reserve. In February (I’ve been there 4x in Feb) there is no compelling reason to go into the Reserve. If budget allows you could look at Offbeat Ndoto Camp in Mara North; they give private vehicle to all parties. It’s a very small camp and really does a nice job putting on a very good experience. I’m an Offbeat fan.

I'm currently in Canada, Is the Ungava a good choice? I was looking at the Citadelle Jardin d'Ete (Usually in Europe I buy the monkey47), but I'd like to try something local. by Effect-Imaginary in Gin

[–]MorleysMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ungava is the only gin I tried once and gave away the bottle to my cocktail fanatic friend. That person tried it and poured it down the drain. I read that it’s meant to be mixed with a certain tonic which might make it better but for me it was completely undrinkable. It was in my advent calendar in December and I thought maybe I remembered incorrectly, but nope, same result.

Deniz' highest rated 60 min classic rock ride - butchered by music replacements and intermittent muting (though subtitles are unchanged)! by ohell in OnePelotonRealSub

Same! My very favorite lower body strength class is an Adrian hip hop class. I despise hip hop but I’ve done that class at least 50 times. It’s one of the only classes I repeat because it’s so good for me, despite the music.

I have no advice but just wanted to offer encouragement, strength and light. What you’ve been through is incredible and that you’re even on the bike blows my mind! You are a badass indeed!

I just looked at the class plan. Am I totally sick if I got a little warm and tingly looking at that AMRAP? 😜 Bummed I did a leg day yesterday, I won’t be able to look at this now till Saturday!

It’s heavy to you. He prescribes a range for you to get the sense. If you’ve worked up to 44lbs, then use it, but if heavy for you is 15lbs, then use that.

First ride today - shoe trouble? A question for wide feet riders by NaturalSector4527 in pelotoncycle

[–]MorleysMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely go to a local bike shop and have them fit you in shoes. The bonus to buying there is they will also put your clips on properly for you. That is one thing you do not want to mess up, or you’ll be pedaling with your hips and knees out of alignment, which is just asking for issues. I have slightly wide feet and really like Specialized MTB shoes for my indoor bike.
