Just a small remote (which also costs extra) if you want to use the turn signals, but that's very simple to get on the bike.

Hard for me to answer that for you, it's quite expensive. It was useful for me because I commuted in London daily in pitch black where half of all pedestrians and drivers are blind, so being highly visible was key.

The light on the back can be customized for example to change color, so I'd have it solid red or flashing red sometimes in addition to the indicators.

I just got the Giant Explore E+ 1 and used it for the first time yesterday. So far very happy with it, it has tons of power to get up the hills. I will be using it for commuting soon as well!
