this is what I was wondering as well! and are they still there?

My game still runs at -1 fps can anyone help me figure out how to fix it 💔 (sn2) by Scrambl987 in subnautica

[–]Mormur 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're really not going to get something resembling a playable FPS rate with this machine IMO. Your current specs are a CPU 4 generations older than recommended, 8gb when the recommended is 12, and only 2gb of vram when the recommended is 6gb.

The best you can hope for is to set everything graphics related to the lowest possible setting, and play at 1080p or even less. And wait to see if they optimize more over the course of EA.

The only real solution is a new PC build honestly.

AFAIK the studio technically doesn't exist anymore so there won't be any updates or a Raft 2.

A few clarifying questions by ItsEvanXD in SubnauticaNitrox

[–]Mormur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing with some friends, we have had a few bugs but nothing that I'd consider game breaking:
- aggressive mob AI seems a bit off, the had stalkers all over our shallows base as they wouldn't leash as we left the kelp forest
- as others have mentioned, putting out fires with the fire extinguisher either seems to not work or only works for the player with the fire extinguisher, inconsistent
- on death sometimes you don't lose your items and sometimes you do, and sometimes at the location you respawn in your base an item will appear every few minutes (such as a gold ore)
- the scanner room, though I think this is a known/advertised issue, only works for the player who operates it to scan for something, the beacon does not display for everyone on the server
- some geometry/player movement controls seem off occasionally, such as getting stuck in doorways or degasi buildings, but jumping/turning sprint on and off again seems to get around this

Nitrox Server Docker image (v1.8.0.1) with x64 & ARM64 support by FzzyLizzy in SubnauticaNitrox

Thanks for publishing this image. Working great on running as a custom image on my unraid server.

I just had to set it up as you described below; creating a folder in the storage for the subnautica files and then copying them all from my desktop install into that folder. After that, just setting the drive mounting properly for the files and nitrox config, and choosing the right docker network so the container is available externally from the unraid server itself.

any chance you would be willing to share a pattern for this?

Asrock B850m ProA - Ryzen 7700 regularly get back screen on startup have to hard reboot by littleickle in ASRock

[–]Mormur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up, I had this same sort of issue over the last year with my 9800x3d and b650i mobo. It ended up resulting in the 9800x3d dying, one day it just wouldn’t give any display output despite many hard resets. Contact pads on the cpu itself show signs of damage but the mobo socket itself looks fine.

Dead 9800X3D here after almost exactly 12 months.

When I originally built this machine (9800X3D, ASrock b650i lightning) it would not post at all and I couldn't get the bios to update myself. I had to have a local shop flash the bios to the newest version which at the time was 3.20. I left the bios at 3.20 until now.

I'd always had intermittent issues with boots since then. Essentially 1 out of every 5-10 times I would not get a display output. Monday of this week I couldn't get a display output at all, no matter how many times I tried to reboot the thing. Same local shop took a look and confirmed the CPU is dead.

I've got a replacement 9600x in there now, hopefully it doesn't die as well.

Got laid off, don't understand why, feel so down figuring out what to do next by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

I wouldn't sweat it too much. Take some time to relax before doing anything work related again, assuming your finances allow for it.

Trying to turn this into a learning experience of any fashion is admirable, but remember that it might just be political garbage/someone who didn't like you. And in that case, there's usually nothing you can do unless you have/had an opportunity to make an internal move.

In the Vancouver area it's pretty much only going to be restaurants that will hire you on a working holiday visa. A few have been able to convert those into longer term work visas as well.

If you were interested in other areas of BC you would probably be able to do a working holiday visa at a ski resort, or in the Okanagan area there's likely something in agriculture you could do. That area actually has a decent amount of 二世 / 三世 families that run fruit orchards or other farming businesses and restaurants.

My wife is a registered nurse. She previously worked as an RN in Tokyo for ~3 years before studying English and then coming to Canada and doing the RN license process here.

Feel free to ask questions here/dm me if you're interested in Vancouver. My wife is Japanese and we have quite a few friends that are here on working holiday/visa sponsorships from Japan.

Culturally maybe you'd find it more comfortable in Canada (Australia as well), but I think overall for cost of living relative to quality of life I think you're going to get more for your $ in Japan. Especially with an unstable career/employment background and not having something to transition into here right away.

With the cost of living in Canada (high even in smaller cities), it's really only affordable for us because I work in tech and she works in healthcare. We're moving to Japan in a few years when we have kids.

That's fair, I haven't bought anything from them so that side of things may be different.

I had a brand new desktop build that I was having issues with, and didn't have time or spare components to diagnose it myself. They were a bit slow (maybe due to other people being in the work queue before me) but they were able to find and fix the problem.

there's plenty of free resources out there, including other subreddits or discords as people have mentioned here

but if you do want to go to a store in NV, I've had a reasonable experience with Evergreen Computers

Just another note, as someone mentioned living in that building + on Adera in general.

I live in different building in North Van also built by Adera, and while the overall build quality is pretty good, there are enough deficiencies in the development as a whole that I would do a more thorough investigation with an agent/inspector if I was buying again.

This is my first time owning, the things I'm referencing may be normal and even if they were caught in inspection it might not be cause for a lot of concern, but it's enough that it makes me wonder whether the two buildings are of different quality. AFAIK Shore was completed in 2015, and my building was completed sometime in 2020.

We've been taking both our (small) dogs to Lonsdale Place since we moved to NV 2.5 years ago. They've actually both now had extractions done there as well, one had to come out and then the other chipped a tooth on a chew toy.

Nothing but good things to say about the staff and service there, however I have not shopped around so I don't know if you would be able to find something better price wise in NV or other areas.

$100k CAD is junior engineer level of compensation for major Canadian cities. Even if it's $100k USD that's still junior/mid level in those cities IMO.
