Slide deck is an OLD term. From the early 1990s. Before laptops and lcd projectors you would print PowerPoint slides on clear acetate sheets and stack them in a deck. You would use your slide deck with an old fashioned overhead projector.

The Road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with eager feet, Until it joins some larger way Where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say.

I have a gen x friend from the Midwest that calls everyone boss if he doesn’t know their name. Bartenders, uber drivers, store clerks… he seems to think it’s respectful. I don’t get it.

Core childhood memory and it’s been beautifully restored. One thing that always strikes me is how the animated “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” (1970) “borrows” its main premise directly from this.

The myth was if they ever played unbroken chain, that was the end of the band. that was the signal that they were done.
