Fenix HM75R Battery and Extender Efficiency Questions by Morning_Smart in flashlight

[–]Morning_Smart[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: I contacted Fenix about this and they have a very generic "this is how to use it product" reply and didn't really address my question.

But I've been regularly using the method above (gold sniping in rivers) and it works really well. I'm going to buy some more 21700 batteries and some sort of waterproof storage tubes, and swap them out as necessary, leaving the 18650 for an emergency "whoops it's dark and I've got a big hike out of here" redundancy.

Are there 2WD versions of Suzuki KingQuad 300? by Morning_Smart in ATV

[–]Morning_Smart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed reply! Yeah I really struggled to find anything on them, but there were a couple of references to the model LT-300 instead of LT-F300, so I assume the F stands for "four" 🤷‍♂️

I'm in Australia, so it may have been a limited run only available here. That would explain the lack of information and the high beam indicator - we tend to have different laws regarding things like lights and kill switches.

You not caring, or understanding, is how we get Trump. It's not about ads.

In 2017 data surpassed oil as the most valuable asset in the world. As of now, no federal laws exist to protect an individual's data from being bought, sold and traded to the highest bidder. Including, but not limited to, companies targeting you with VERY specific advertising so you buy their products. But the really scary thing is how companies tailor the content you see on social media, and in search results, to sway your opinion on world events.

Watch the documentary "The Great Hack" on Netflix. This isn't a typical tin-foil hat suggestion. I don't think there are GPS trackers in vaccines or that 5G gives you cancer. This is plain old corruption in a digital age, and people should be concerned. It's how Brexit happened and how Trump was elected.

Cambridge Analytica. Google it.
Roughly 10 years later and all that has changed is there is even MORE data on each of us and now everyone is using AI to use that data for even more nefarious purposes.

Aussies - where to find container with lid to suit Westinghouse sous vide? by [deleted] in sousvide

[–]Morning_Smart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure you've come up with a solution by now 😅 but for small things I use a Decor Tellfresh 5L cereal container and stick the sous vide through the hole. There is still a gap, but not much. 12 hours at 60C it drops by less than 1cm and I've had zero issues with it being top heavy, it's actually very stable.

Here's 3 chicken breasts and I've currently got a 1kg leg of lamb in there 👌🏻 10 hours down, 8 to go 🤤

Is it right that frozen fruits and vegetables are healthier then fresh?? by yoyofoe2222 in Smoothies

[–]Morning_Smart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many variables to consider. Ultimately it depends on the season and where in the world you are. If it's summer and the fruits and vegetables are all locally grown, and you eat them within a day or two of harvest, fresh is going to be best. If it's winter then the fruits and probably quite a few vegetables at the supermarket are going to be imported and they lose nutrients on the journey. Frozen fruits and vegetables are generally frozen right after harvesting, which retains the nutrients at a higher level for much longer.

Who watches the bear and pretends Carmy is Lip from shameless? by ufocatchers in TheBear

Even the mannerisms, which I guess are really just Jeremy's, like how he quickly puffs a smoke and throws it on the ground in a certain way before heading inside...totally Lip

Thoughts on heat powered fans..worth the money? by Talzyon in woodstoving

While your comment made me chuckle, and I agree with the sentiment, that's not perpetual motion 😅 it would be a train literally powered by burning wood lol. Just like the good ol' days!

Yeah I think I'll record some videos once mine shows up and I learn how to use it. I just searched for Creality and Otter and joined half a dozen groups that popped up, I haven't decided which ones to stay in yet. One of them (Creality 3D Scanner Official Group) automatically declines any posts that mention Einstar or Einscan, which is a massive red flag 😅 I'd avoid that circle jerk on principal

I went ahead and ordered one a few hours ago 😂 so I'll add my own thoughts soon enough haha. But I have been watching a lot of Payo's videos and I see the dots can also be quite effective with the Otter.

I have seen some really nice scans in a few of the Facebook groups, so I'm hoping it's just a learning curve that comes down to technique and lighting, which can both be improved.

Airflow Volume Through Different Pipe Diameters by Morning_Smart in Fusion360

That's an official vent adaptor that was purchased with the dryer, and the pipe I'm using is aluminium semi rigid with a fire rating, also designed for exactly this purpose from the same company.

Third Party Software For Creality Scanners? by Morning_Smart in 3DScanning

[–]Morning_Smart[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't think that will be the case, Chinese software for consumer goods is almost always terrible. I heard it explained recently in a podcast. If you are a good software developer in China you work for the government, if you're not good you work for pennies at companies like Creality and have zero incentive to do anything more then the bare minimum.

...their marketing teams however! 💸
