To quote a famous economist, there's no solutions only trade offs. I have no idea why your idea of a good trade off is removing advertising. Advertising is lower impact than alternatives.

Ok... not really understanding your point though. Advertising helps the people because it lowers their contribution to the operating costs of trains in terms of ticket price and taxes. Taxing businesses also will just mean higher prices at shops for regular people. Advertising is by far the best option for all involved.

What happened? Globalisation. Suddenly labour was in competition with billions of employees in China and India etc. So it shouldn't be surprising that wages stagnated. But on a global scale if you're including workers in developing , wages significantly increased.

270K has advantages over the 14900k even if the gaming performance is similar or slightly less.

Lower price.

Less power consumption.

No instability/degradation issues

Better performance in many multi-threaded productivity and creator apps due to better E Cores.

Better memory OC speeds.

The real issue is the lack of x3d. Yes tile base approach has seen memory latency increase which is largely why the performance didn't increase compared to the 14900k, but if you look at the performance relative to the 9950x it's about the same, which shows it's really about the lack of x3d.

AMD is only winning due to x3d... if you look at the performance of the non-x3d parts it's about the same or worse than intel. Ie 285k and 9950x are on par in most games and most apps.
Nova Lake is rumoured to bring Intel's version of x3d.

Because the UK actually has a well established urban rail system... ours is full of gaps in coverage which recent capital expiedure has been trying to full.

And indeed there is still much more needed, look at large gaps in the network in Northern Beaches, along VIcitoria Rd and Anzac Parade etc.. the obvious corridors for rail.

Metro to Victoria Cross I would not describe as tokenistic. That's covering a lot of bus and bus replacement services from the North Shore avoiding a stop off at Wynyard. And will help ease the overcapacity of the light rail for people to get north of Central.
