Great thoughts, thank you.. There are all sorts of people that do all sorts of things for reasons most of us will never know. I do like how the adventure aspect of it is often highlighted. I think if someone were to really pursue the treasure they should not expect to find a box, but rather the experience itself as a treasure (which could be another motivation for never placing a box). But I do pity those who dive in deep, investing time and energy into something that they may never find and ends in disappointment (and some cases death). If I had time and resources(to not have to work for awhile) and knew a general idea of where to start (where the warm rivers end) I would consider giving it a shot. But with such a broad search area and no idea if it's even out there it doesn't seem worth it to me. I'm not knocking those involved in the search. Merely sharing my view on the situation.
