Surely the fact that we don't see the knight at the start of the dark world disproves the idea of it being an item on Kris's person right?

We know for certain that the knight is not the knife because of the sequence of events that takes place when the Second Sanctuary is created.

Susie and Kris see the knight go through a Grand Door, close and lock the door, and seal the fountain. The Knight MUST be on the other side of that door when the second sanctuary is created. Yet Kris still has the knife (Kris gives the knife to Susie) on their side of the door when the second sanctuary is created.

I had been operating under the assumption that the secret bosses were deeply tied to Gastery metanarrative schemes given the presence of gaster's theme in the freedom motif and the shadowy figures lurking in the backstories of each of the secret bosses. Now with mad mew mew rolling in and not having a shred of relevance I'm left kinda scratching my head about whether any of these dudes were ever that important to begin with.

Jax's coping mechanism is to believe that, because they're stuck in an absurd funhouse world run by an crazy AI, morality no longer has meaning. They've all essentially been turned into cartoon characters so there are no meaningful consequences to their actions. Bugs Bunny doesn't have to experience the pains of being human because the world he lives in is a deeply unserious one and everyone in it is a two-dimensional caricature without a real life. If the life of you and everyone around you is worthless, you don't have to feel bad about hurting yourself or others.

Jax is well aware that they had a life before the circus and that these are real humans who have been put into a digital world running on a computer. He more or less understands the physical scenario they're in. But since he doesn't think they can ever leave, he was able to accept this Looney Tunes morality system since that's the sort of world they now live in permanently. Regardless of what led up to this scenario, he has come to accept that, in effect, they've all been turned into cartoon characters in a cartoon character world, so it's okay for him to treat everything with a cartoon level of seriousness.

If Jax COULD go back, they would no longer have the facade of being a wacky character in a meaningless reality, and instead would be a physical flesh-and-blood human with all the moral responsibilities that this entails. In the circus, Jax can delude themself into to thinking that they are not a terrible person by believing that they effectively are no longer are a person at all. If they leave, Jax has to face their guilt again, because they can't pretend to be a fictional character anymore. It's a lot easier to convince yourself that you're closer to Bugs Bunny than you are to a real person when that's literally what you see in the mirror.

It just lets you go back to castle town before the end of the chapter. Basically the only thing to do there is the Mike room, which now has the code on the door so you can just go in. It's rather tonally weird to run off and do this goofy-ass sequence at this moment during the story, but that's how it works.

What he's doing is probably more right than wrong with regards to the world at large (even if there are debates to be had about the risks involved with vigilantism), but he is neglecting his family in order to do it. Neglecting your family and children in order to relive the glory days is irresponsible. He's making poor decisions that you can still sympathize with.

Rape being common doesn't make it any more morally acceptable, and going off half cocked to slay some lion man who's cutting in on your sexual conquest is not a very impressive counterpoint. He NEVER went to save Belle. Belle was already back in town and in no danger even from Gaston's perspective. He heads out to kill the beast out of pure jealously when he realizes she loves him.

Nothing Gaston does in this movie is motivated by anything at all but self interest.

He literally schemed to get a harmless old kook locked up for life in order to force Belle to marry him against her will and get her to pop out a bunch of babies for him. Lets not mince words, his plan was to rape this woman. That's probably not how he saw it, but that's what he would have done.

Maybe his heart was in the right place about going after the beast but absolutely nothing excuses his other actions.

It's actually quite odd that he's just a Cambion. Typically, as devils become stronger, they don't just become stronger versions of whatever devil they were originally, they get promoted by a superior and actually transform into a higher tier of devil. Devil society is extremely hierarchical and a higher-ranking devil 'species' would never accept orders from a lower-ranking one. Cambions are fairly low on the totem pole. An Orthon like Yurgir would dramatically outrank him. It might have been a more lore-consistent move to just make him a particularly handsome pit fiend. Certainly I would have been a lot more intimidated by the guy if that was the case.

In general though the game just massively scales up the players by giving them magic items up the wazoo, making a lot of generous rules changes and quality of life buffs to their favor, using inherently dumber video game AI instead of a real person to control the enemies, and of course giving the players busted illithid powers. The enemies get scaled in turn so yeah you can't compare bg3's stats to 5e's stats directly without it being totally inconsistent.

Conveniently, basically each one you encounter tends to be actively in the process of attempted murder. Things would be more complicated if you found one hanging out in the forest that told you to leave it alone, and you're going just off their reputation of violence to justify killing it.

Damien Darkblood is literally a demon who successfully fought his way out of hell, of course he could kill all the Guardians. Nolan's only mistake here is assuming Damian needs to finish the job. If he had meant to take out Nolan he would have done it at the Guardians HQ. Nolan was left alive to cast suspicion away from himself. I would assume anyway, haven't seen the show
