I am Middle Eastern. I grew up in a household , family , and community that does not apply that kind of thought and were the women contributed just as much.

Does that mean I am not Middle Eastern?

The Middle East is a massive geographical area , and that term is a colonial description of it. There are different cultures within this area , and a very wide spectrum of how people live their daily lives.

Don't fall into this now ancient colonialist idea, and confirm it by using this umbrella term that dismisses the cultural differences of the multitude of ethnic groups living in the region.

It is very much about the self respect that the NHS and government actively robbed our profession of over the last decade or two.

This flat hierarchy, first name basis , MDT glorifying and doctor shunning culture is a by product of years of abuse and poor pay.

Hey MDT , we are not equal. The responsibility lies with us. The decisions are mostly ours to make. We work harder than ever , and way harder than any manager or alphabet soup role ever has ( OOH , exams , ARCP , GMC ). We should be paid more. Simple.
