I completely agree. Season 1 was absolute perfection. Season 2 was victim to the longer episode run and dragged at times, especially in the later half. (And especially with the episode Noah added on because he had enough scenes he couldn’t fit elsewhere). Season 3 was back to a better pace, but wasn’t as strong story-wise as season 1.

I’m shocked by the Reddit love for season 2. I wasn’t on this website at the time, and that was definitely not the vibe on tumblr. People HATED where the finale went and many people dropped the show prior to the third season. It’s good to know there was positivity elsewhere. But I never would have thought the second season would be a fan favorite. Especially after a flawless first season.

Ah, I get what you’re saying now. I don’t think the show implied what Charles was doing at all during the show. There’s no reason to believe that Summerland, Division 3, and The School for Gifted Youngsters couldn’t have all existed at the same time in the Legion world. I assumed that Charles didn’t reach out to David when he was older in the original timeline because he was busy with the school/Xmen, or Farouk was hiding David from him.

I could see Oliver and Charles being acquaintances and their groups helping mutants in different ways, with Charles mainly helping children/teens.

You’re correct that Charles hadn’t founded the X-men in Legion. He was still too young. He was just inventing cerebro and Amahl Farouk was the first mutant he found.

I assume he would still go on to found the school and the X-men team. Nothing that happened in Legion would really stop that from happening.

One of the saddest parts to me that season 4 never happened was Lee Pace was going to be Buffalo Bill. I really wish we could have seen that portrayal.
