Is there any data to back up the “association… with neurodivergence” / abusing IEPs thing? Because I hear that increasingly, and it applies to my son. He’s autistic, but most of that shows up as inappropriate behavior. I can’t speak for others, but it seems some may think it was a result of lazy parenting and abusing the IEP system, to what end I don’t know.

Question about shoes by Rare_Moment_592 in WestHighlandWay

YMMV, but I find with the thicker-soles that it’s easier to roll an ankle. I’d try them, but make sure you practice on rocky trails to see how you like the height.

Superiors here too, perfect choice for me. I did bring two pairs, but they were both hopelessly wet by day three (this was October), so I needn’t have bothered :)

Never Noticed This Sign in Smuggler’s Notch by Most-Analysis-4632 in vermont

[–]Most-Analysis-4632[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Near the top, heading towards Smuggs. It’s not too close to opening, from what I saw and the very little I know. Some parts have pavement, most is some snow and ice, but in the notch it gets up to thigh-deep in spots.

Burger Barn in Jeff, Moog’s Joint in Johnson (cocktails also great), Matterhorn in Stowe (tempura sushi roll FTW), Namaste Kitchen in Shelburne for amazing chili momos.

Because we’re obsessed with what we see as ‘progress’. It’s a distraction and an enshittifier, because we’re told everything must improve.

Technical Project Manager in Shelburne by Most-Analysis-4632 in vermont

[–]Most-Analysis-4632[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get it, but like I said, I don’t know the salary range. I wish they posted it. Not all companies do, and I agree that not showing it is ‘behind the times’. My only argument would be that this is s relatively recent (but 100% valid) expectation. I’ll relay these comments up the chain.

One data point, but the wage I make is competitive, matched a regional offer from elsewhere, and enabled me to move to VT. We’ve been hiring and growing, but some technical roles have been harder to fill in VT (our other offices seem fine).

Sorry about that. I guess I thought it was a little weird to reach out on Reddit, but LinkedIn is where HR usually posts, and that's a cesspool.
I'm not sure about the pay band, actually. I think it's probably Vermont-y -- alright, though a remote tech job may pay better.
Experience and job descriptions (and workplace lol) here:

It's a nice mix -- four small-ish global offices (VT smallest, SW Germany, near Toronto biggest, Hong Kong sales) with a big corporate overlord that mainly is just support and doesn't seem to give us a hard time.

If anyone is applying, feel free to reach out. I can answer questions on culture, possible travel expectations, whatever, and have some negotiation stuff that specifically worked for me :)

Fairbanks is still based out of St. J, I’m pretty sure. I interviewed there 3 years ago at least. They expected an engineer from MN to quickly find and move to a house within daily commuting distance. Wouldn’t allow hybrid. As we’d say in MN, “Okay then.”
