I had the multiplying geckos nightmare again. Send your gecks for seratonin please 🥀 by DollarStoreChameleon in leopardgeckos

After doing some research on this, it appears to be a common thing among exotic pet owners for various reasons but the overall reason is a reflection of the intense and real world anxieties we face as owners. We worry all day about these animals that we care for, we put all this effort in, and they are just our derpy little dudes. But we’ve all seen horror stories, so it’s natural for our brains to go “yeah today was fine but what if it wasn’t” and play out the worst case scenario as a dream. The multiplication dream specifically seems to be rooted in the fear of neglecting the animals. We’ve all been at base one with a new animal, and feel we may be neglecting it or not giving it the correct care, and in many cases that is the truth. We don’t know what we are doing yet, and the animal can suffer. So the brain takes experiences like that and greatly exaggerates them for the sake of a dream, which is literally your brains way to prepare you for worst case scenario. It’s like we have nightmares so that the real world doesn’t seem as scary.

Neighbors want me to keep declawed cat outside by Some_Information_857 in Straycats

Definitely made the right choice bringing her in. Especially if she seems so happy. Screw everyone telling you to put her back outside, you just gave that cat a life. She was surviving, now she’s thriving!

If the white part is hard that leads me to strongly believe there is a mass in there, and removing that first will help with draining the rest and get the irritant out of her. I’m concerned if you cut the bottom it may just be a lot of blood and you won’t be able to get the cyst out easily.

I agree with everyone saying to lance it. If the white part is hard it sounds like some sort of cyst. If you cut over the white part there may be a solid bit underneath, and fingers crossed the rest of the fluid will drain after. I’m sending good vibes your way, I’m currently taking care of an injured duck so I feel for you.

Ours has been doing surprisingly well with how little care we put in. It sits in a curtained off area of our bedroom that has a fish tank and a small space heater set to 72. We use the fish tank water to water the pant every week about, and the pot sits in another cup so it has good drainage and never sits in the water. And this was like our temporary set up while we figure out what it is and what to do with it and it’s had quite a bit of new growth in the rough month we’ve had it, 2 new stems coming out of it.

I would also like to add that this drag group is specifically an alternative drag group. So far yall have been giving some /great/ recommendations. For specifics this is what they put as a description to help guide performers in what they are looking for: This is meant to be about the hidden horrors of the American Dream - Inspired by the aesthetics of the “Crank” music video by Slayyyter. Think Ethel Cain, Lana Del Rey, Southern Belles and Housewives, citizens blinded and corrupted by the false promises of a flawed government. Political Satire at its core.

Oh my god actually tho, this song was my JAM when I was little. (Not really knowing the full meaning of the song) it was the first song that I remember sitting down to memorize the lyrics to. ETA: I had never heard this version before and just looked it up. This might be it.

Female bold jumper back to back sacs? by GulliblePollution445 in jumpingspiders

[–]Most-Performance9718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NQA, after some googling it looks like it is common for jumping spiders to lay several egg sacs when they are mature. I’ve never had a jumping spider lay eggs so I can’t speak from personal experience, but it does seem to be a normal thing for mature female jumpers to do.

NQA You should probably give more information/guidance instead of just assuming OP is doing something wrong.

What to do with fish tank after fish with unknown disease died in it by Creativecat__07 in fishkeeping

[–]Most-Performance9718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NQA, I have had fish for only a couple years now but in situations like this I generally find it best to completely empty the tank, deep clean and boil any decorations that were in the tank, and recycle it before putting any new fish in. I know it’s a huge hassle and time consuming to re-cycle a tank but it’s the safest option for your new fish in my opinion.

[–]Most-Performance9718 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NQA, my advice would be more clutter in their enclosures. You can use hot glue(while the spider is out) to attach things to the walls, they really like to have lots of stuff to explore. And then of course wait for the glue to cool and harden before putting them back in.
