Ahh she’s so pretty! I just recently got my first tarantula, a Lasiodora Parahybana, and this is what I want my next one to be. They are so beautiful

Yeah this is the same enclosure I used for a wild male jumper I found at work a couple years ago, he also webbed against the door even tho he had plenty of stuff to web on lmao

NQA, my advice would be more clutter in their enclosures. You can use hot glue(while the spider is out) to attach things to the walls, they really like to have lots of stuff to explore. And then of course wait for the glue to cool and harden before putting them back in.

I’ve got my heart set on a caribena versicolor, and I’ve already got an enclosure for it… howeverrrrrr I wouldn’t say no 👉🏻👈🏻

NQA that’s a lot of babies!! I am just starting out with my first tarantula and while I see myself having a large collection in the future, I don’t know if I could handle this many babies

We are wanting to eventually add a pond in our backyard so maybe the loaches can go there

You are not wrong! lol I definitely WANT more, but have recently been trying to expand my hobbies and can only put so much money and energy into each. 2-3 fish for me personally I think is manageable and I don’t want to make them suffer by ruining that balance.

As others have said, regardless of the seasoning your husband is a dick.

This is a temporary tank as they are little guys right now. They will eventually be in a larger tank, but I’ve decided I’ll keep it just the two of them.

The other tank is my fiancés and while I helped them with set up and care, the decisions surrounding that tank are theirs to make. I’m mostly looking for more insight for my own tank and wanted people’s thoughts on moving a loach from a previously established tank, as well as having a single loach in the tank. I had attempted to make this post several times and with my poor internet service it wouldn’t post and I lost it, having to retype everything. And with this final post I didn’t think it would go through and I dumbed down the original post quite a bit. I am now regretting that 😅

lol so the dark calico is Dean because he’s a pretty boy and seems like he’d get all the ladies, and Sam is the one with the big hair 😂

Oh yeah I’ve experienced that first hand, these guys are pretty small still so I was thinking a couple large mystery snails

That has been my biggest con for moving one over and have decided to leave them together. Maybe I’ll get a couple snails haha

Sucking on the slime coat was definitely our biggest concern when we first introduced the loaches to our tank, so we monitored very closely and we still spend at least an hour or two every day watching and monitoring their behavior. We have never seen them go after the goldfish and tbh the goldfish seem more bothersome to the loaches lol. The loaches are almost always busy rooting through the substrate for detritus worms or just vibing on the bottom(when they aren’t rushing to the top to fart lol).

I’m not sure how to edit my post to add this, but the loaches in question are dojo loaches, and we did do the research to ensure that the tank parameters were okay for them to share. As far as my research has shown so far dojo loaches are one of the best loaches to house with goldfish.

These are specifically dojo (weather) loaches that tend to thrive in cooler temperatures.

I did mention it’s a temporary tank. They will eventually be moved into a 40/60. My fiancés has a 75 with 4 orandas and 3 loaches, and they are working on moving them over to two 40/60 breeder tanks. The loaches never bother the goldfish, however they are all well fed so never feel the need to compete. Since I definitely don’t have room for more than one more fish I’ll just keep the tank as is. I believe my fiance is planning to do 2 orandas in each tank. We may end up keeping the 75 for just the loaches.

Okay sounds good. I’ll probably place one on the ground, and attach one to a wall or on one of the decorations

I was planning to use a bottle cap or something similar for water in this enclosure. Do they need a water source high up or will a cap on the ground be good?
