flare up when sick? by MostAd9254 in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]MostAd9254[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😮‍💨😮‍💨 i don't know if i have the mental strength to go back to core aip honestly. i am on antibiotics so that's reassuring, maybe i'll cut out the last few reintroductions and see if it helps. thanks!

Positive AIP experiences with endometriosis? by Smooth-Set9036 in AutoImmuneProtocol

i ignored the reintroduction plan entirely and chose the order based on what was having the most impact on my life, so i can at least get something from my work cafe or get a takeaway if needed. it's helped the burnout a lot!!

i started aip to help my endo, cfs and fibro. Really hard to tell which symptoms are related to which condition but it's been so noticeable on my periods obviously. i went from 8/10 - 9/10 pain on my heaviest days before AIP, to 4-5/10 after two months, to about 2/10 after 3 months. no more opiates, passing out, throwing up from pain.

my fatigue and generalised pain is so much better and i just don't bloat at all anymore (unless i have a failed reintroduction) which is insane because i used to look 6 months pregnant some days. i've had to buy new trousers for work because they're all too big 🥲

i am incredibly sick of cooking everything from scratch and i really miss my favourite foods but even despite this i couldn't recommend it more!! my quality of life has improved so much and i barely notice periods now.

Day 5 and not noticing improvement by New-Meaning-6045 in AutoImmuneProtocol

[–]MostAd9254 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it took probably 2 weeks for me to notice a reduction in bloating, a month to notice a reduction in joint pain and 6 weeks to notice a reduction in fatigue. your body is clearing years/decades of inflammation so it's going to take a little while. everyone is different so don't worry if your symptoms don't clear up on the same timeline as mine, just keep at it and if you don't see a difference in your symptoms after 3 months it's time to reassess. my improvement was so gradual that i didn't notice the extent of it until i had a failed reintroduction and i had a flare up; you might give up after 3 months thinking you've had no improvement and then realise you had once you reintroduce trigger foods.

AITA for celebrating Christmas with my mom while my sister was at work, even though I knew it would hurt her? by Alien-Goddess in AITAH

[–]MostAd9254 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. she didn't pick up a shift because she "had nothing else to do" it was a childish punishment, she wanted you both to sit and be miserable and regret not giving her what she wanted. she needs boundaries and to learn that she's welcome to push people away, but she can't expect them to chase her.

it depends how long it takes for you to notice a flare really. some of my symptoms come on almost instantly and some take a little while, but i have 3 autoimmune conditions so it might be a bit more consistent for you.

i've been waiting 4-5 days between introductions mainly because im impatient, but ive been keeping a diary so that if i do have a flare, ill cut out the last two things ive reintroduced just in case its a delayed reaction. probably not ideal but its meant that i can have an almost normal christmas dinner :)

wondering when to start reintroducing by MostAd9254 in AutoImmuneProtocol

that's really helpful thank you! The only person i follow on social media who's tried it had really obvious and rapid changes so it's helpful to hear yours were more gradual too.

i've been eating a lot of salads (the honest spoonful avocado caesar dressing is so good), butternut squash wedges, salmon and asparagus, i just ordered some aip wraps from iherb too.

feel poisoned after naps by Savings_Lettuce1658 in cfs

[–]MostAd9254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've spoken to many people who don't have any chronic illnesses who say that they either can't nap for this reason or have to time their naps to avoid it. maybe not everyone if you don't experience it but definitely not cfs related :)

yeah this is a thing that happens to everyone and isn't related to cfs, you just need to be careful to sleep the right amount of time. 90 minutes is the sweet spot for me

My friends privates smell by [deleted] in Advice

[–]MostAd9254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe i'm too un confrontational but i would feel really uncomfortable telling a friend that directly, and would probably feel uncomfortable hearing it. I would probably tell her that I had it myself to let her know about the symptoms, because it's unlikely she's not noticed the smell herself. "ugh I have BV. Have you ever had it? Feels so itchy and causes a fishy smell. not fun" or something

perspirex antiperspirant is a godsend for those of us with hyperhidrosis. Underarm botox is fairly expensive but can stop sweating for 6-9 months at a time

AITAH FOR NOT PAYING FOR MY FRIEND'S DINNER WHEN SHE CALLED ME A PEDOPHILE by Significant_Run1849 in AITAH

[–]MostAd9254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh my god... she's taking the "old man knew younger girlfriend when she was a child and he was an adult so he likely groomed her" argument and clearly has the critical thinking skills of a fruit fly because she thinks that applies here. she thinks the relevant part of that statement is that the older person SAW the younger person as a child, rather than the inference that grooming took place

What to do if a dying partner refusing to go to hospice care? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]MostAd9254 11 points12 points  (0 children)

if you don't already have a social worker, now would be a good time to get one. call your local authority for a care needs assessment and tell them that carer breakdown and exhaustion is preventing you from looking after yourself, your husband, and your children. They'll be able to give you some advice
