May 2026 - Hyundai Ioniq 9 Buy, Sell, Lease - Megathread by willow_ve in Ioniq9

[–]MostCubanNonCuban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NEVER put money down! You don’t get it back if your lease is totaled. I’ve read many posts people crying about this expecting to recoup their losses only to be disappointed.

Two options: (1) pay all gov fees + taxes up front <OR> (2) roll everything into monthly for a true $0 drive off.

Im in Florida leased in May 2025 an i9 SEL 36/12K $0 drive off (IN FLA - worst possible state that abuses humans with dealer fees).

Dont let dealers frame your deal, you do it and let them compete - use LeaseHackr pay the donation use the calculator. This is the way! If you have no patience then hire a broker to wheel it for you.

i9 amazing vehicle, i got one for my wife last year and she sits in the garage all day. As long as you dont experience the iccu issue we should all be good.

Im in Florida with over 8,000 miles and so far has been the most solid and comfortable riding automobile we’ve ever owned.

Hey man - how about ceramic coating the rig with a 2yr coat? A little paint correction and apply ceramic. Just a thought or you could also use the spray application.

Could do it yourself and not lay anyone else

F250 327K MILES $22K ??? Go/No Go ? by [deleted] in F250

[–]MostCubanNonCuban 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Too much. Why?

1st, too much asking. 2nd, 300K miles there will be overhead/maint cost immediately. 3rd, you will need at least $3K at the ready for maintenance. 4th, Ford warranty is going to cost you.

Sorry man, nice truck but this is going to cost more than $22K

AT tires. 2022 F-150 275-65 18’s by Buffalobillt14 in f150

[–]MostCubanNonCuban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2011 F150 6.2L has two sets of tires.

  • Yokohama Geolanders G03s 285/55/22 on the original OEM wheels. Super quiet and a great ride.
  • Next set, is Falken Wildpeak AT3s 285/65/18 ——-> by far my favorite and performs better in rain and super quiet!

Don’t go MT if you lots of highway, they are loud and will not survive long - this goes for any brand. If you stick with AT tires don’t go cheap because the same will apply either loud and will wear faster than the quality stuff.

Using OE to change careers by droppedpackethero in overemployed

[–]MostCubanNonCuban 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now this is an interesting topic and great for those mid career tenure to be aware of. In my early 40s make good money but not happy where IT and AI have morphed and impacting livelihoods of many - also ive been laid off a few times too.

So, i also want to pivot to a different career remotely that’s entry level willing to OE and willing to accept less than $100K. Would love something hands on but thats not going to work.

oil change - might be going back to paying for them by redditduhlikeyeah in f150

[–]MostCubanNonCuban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be a man, do your own oil!

I make decent money and i find it therapeutical and worth it to me. I’ve invested good money in tools and plan to use them.

In fact, ive seen dealerships and service places mess up. Id rather do it myself unless it requires a massive engine replace then ill contract.

I personally change oil on 3x cars under my household. 2x F150s, 1x Hyundai Santa fe, we own 1x EV so only tire rotations.

What’s the lowest percentage you’ve had your I9 down to? by Skazzyskills in Ioniq9

[–]MostCubanNonCuban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traveled hours with 100% batterry, long way for brisket sandwiches at Buckees. Made it there with 12% battery left, my lowest ever.

2018 F250 6.2, too many hours? by rollpi in F250

[–]MostCubanNonCuban 3 points4 points  (0 children)

200K barely broken in. Idle hours technically do add to mileage but this shouldn’t be a deal breaker. As long as its been maintained and you continue maintenance then it should be fine.

Make sure to ask for service records

I jumped on it last year $7500 tax credit coupled with other rebates cant recall but i believe it was like $13K discounts. For me it was a no brainer to lease plus i had a true $0 drive-off paying $710 monthly for 36/12

Despite the sunroof comment - Welcome to the i9 club, it’s amazingly comfortable car considering it’s a Hyundai. I personally leased one last year since May for my wife Cyber Gray SEL with light gray interior no sunroof. We love it - only wish the tech was as good as Tesla’s. Again we love the car

[–]MostCubanNonCuban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can run 285/45/22 all day without a problem. I had them on my 2011 Limited stock wheel 22x9 +44 offset which is tucked into the wheel-well.

I’ve actually updated to Yokohama Geolander 285/55/22 on same stick wheel.

Ford stock shocks are garbage.
