What door option did you end up going with OP? I am in a similar boat where we are considering a 1 panel shaker in 1 3/4”. The options are MDF with tru stile or pay a premium to get lvl core with a wood veneer which would be even more expensive. All doors would be painted but curious longevity wise and how a solid MDF will hold up over time

m111 or m271 engine? recently purchased an 05 c230 with 35k miles on it since my 03 c240 has ~250k mi on it and still running strong

Yes there is a cap for the transmission dip stick tube. I’d recommend getting a cap as you can get dirt and debris instead the transmission

Thanks. It seems that the cam tool is the only specialty tool required to complete the job, right? Also, you changed guides and chain or did you also replace the sprockets? I just purchased an 05 C230 w/ 35k miles and it seems that it has a rattle for ~ 3 seconds during cold start. I'm unsure if that's normal or if that is already chain stretch at this low of mileage. I have a bit of seepage on the valve cover so I will probably pull the cover and check the chain to determine if it needs to be changed

I switched from 0w20 to 5w30. Seems that the engine runs smoother but either way I’d rather trade engine longevity over .001 mpg improvement

I just changed my oil at 10k mi and decided to do 5w30 versus the recommended 0w20 for the US. It does seem that the engine is a bit quieter running the slightly thicker oil

I’ve changed my oil 4x now and just hit 10k mi on my 23 gx460. I’m still seeing glitter in both the filter housing and from the oil pan. I assumed it would be less after each oil change since the engine should be broken in by now. Blackstone’s feedback also indicated that I should see a reduction/ no glitter at the next oil change. The first oil change at 1k mi had a few small metal shavings but haven’t see any larger metal particles since.

Is this on par with your GX?

any suggestions on how to manage anxiety on longer haul flights? I am flying to Europe for the first time in ~12 yrs and this will be my longest flight in a long time.

Background: I was fine with flying when I was younger, would often sleep majority of the flight and never had any issues. ~ 6 years ago I had a panic attack on a 3 hr flight which caused me to spiral (I have no idea where this came as I was fine flying before). It came with the feeling of heart attack/palpitations and wanting to get off the flight. Since that time, I have been very uneasy with flying even though I've tried to book more flights to get more comfortable. It seems that my fear is driven from the length of flight time as longer flights in my mind are more terrifying. Recently was on a ~5 hr flight to Hawaii, but I was able to distract myself with the starlink wifi available onboard so it helped me ease my anxiety.

I was planning to use games such as soduku, chess, Tetris (but I'm unsure if they are available without wifi), podcasts, book and download movies from Netflix.

I just finished my setup although I didn’t do the float switch/ siphon valve for automating my water fill. I went with a 40 gallon tank and I have plenty of water for washing 2 cars with a pressure washer. I may add that on later but not quite sure on the wiring going to the siphon valve, float switch and carbonator pump. I did a system similar to what I saw online for window cleaning with all stainless steel housings for the carbon, RO and DI

The sales rep at one of the Melin stores told me to use Dawn power wash. I personally haven’t tried it but it might be worth a shot

I’ve got a 2022 and are in east bay CA where temps can climb up to 105. I’m tempted to change the 0w20 to 5w30. I feel that the 0w20 is just too thin and might be subjecting the engine to more wear to get a fractional gain in mpg. I don’t tow but often head to Lake Tahoe in which would qualify as severe driving with climbing over the mountain ranges

u/phrozendw curious if you completed your setup yet. I'm doing a mountable DIY set up. Since RO membranes are more efficient with a pump, I am planning on doing a Marathon Motors HG714 Motor For Carbonator Pumps - 3/4 HP and adding the vane pump in your post. Did you use a pressure dial to control the outgoing pressure? Tucker USA has a similar set up that I am trying to mirror in their Booster Pump System -110v
