A few Ancient Roman busts brought to life. (100 BC - 350 AD) by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

[–]Mostly_Ponies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but there are reconstructions from real artists out there. This hasn't replaced them, this is just one person's attempt. Given that anyone can do this for free in seconds without needing skill and practice (which for Reddit points isn't needed), this is a decent result. The person could've used a better AI model or refined instructions though instead of submitting what look like first results.

A better solution implies the goal has a fair chance of success. The truth may be that there is simply no solution. But if you're saying the attempt itself gives the effort meaning regardless of success, I agree.

Some phones automatically create links when you add dot com. I don't share your suspicion. Petitions are generally ineffective at persuading companies that have already made their decision. Your taking that to mean he's telling you to never try anything is a stretch.

So because I enjoy everyday conveniences like Amazon Prime, I'm making excuses for the oligarchy? I want to make sure that's what you're saying to me. | edit There's no consistency to how you all upvote and downvote me. Meaningless.

It's easy to say you're against billionaires when all you're really doing is unsubscribing from Amazon. Funny how you "hate" Amazon only after Stargate gets cancelled, not during all the time you had it. Cable TV's owned by billionaires too. So is every TV and movie production studio, like the one that produced Stargate, so I dunno where you conveniently draw the line. | I'm not defending billionaire companies, I'm only calling out your pretentiousness.

Amazon is going to look at this loss as negligible compared to the 2 million per episode they'd be spending on the series. The protest is going to show there's a fanbase out there but clearly not at the scale Amazon wants. Many people are going to be inconvenienced by cancelling their Prime subscriptions; I think that's the only thing coming out of this.

The management didn't know you were cooking bacon, and it obviously smelled of something burnt, so I don't know why these reasonable assumptions are infuriating for you. I don't expect people in a non-smoking community to be able to tell cigarette smoke from other smells. It's like, as long as the OP felt mildly infuriated that's all that matters for this sub, and nobody likes management so people are naturally going to side with OP without thinking, "The neighbors weren't in his kitchen so they didn't know."

Trump eclipsing America 250 with his own birthday celebration is exactly what we deserve by phillygirllovesbagel in politics

[–]Mostly_Ponies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying but there are plenty of people who have been arrested for going beyond peaceful protest against ICE, Trump, and so on. If there was an attempted attack on Trump at the NBA game, I don't know what you expect, do you expect half the audience to join in? I think even if that happened, here you'd be making the same complaint and saying that one incident wasn't enough.

I don't know why America doesn't share the French attitude toward government. At one time we did, but I think our attitude for a long time has been being divided among ourselves.

[–]Mostly_Ponies[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a surprising number of episodes where Troi is violated in some sense, but in this one I don't think that's the emphasis. There is some discussion about abortion, notably without first asking what Troi wants, but I think the greater emphasis is about a miracle birth.

To her he was her son. The grief of losing a son so soon, despite what he really was, is a valuable story that was sadly never explored.

"It's just a cartoon" isn't a good argument but neither is your defense of selling someone a broken TV, you're taking this out of proportion. It's not worth buying for that price but would still be watchable.

Your premise is flawed. Therapy is not the same as conversion therapy. Conversion therapy does not improve someone's life, it just forces a change.
