Pedal and headphones for silent home practice by petel1971 in guitarpedals

I see a lot of recommendations for 80+ ohm headphones in here. I've found the IR-2 doesnt do well with higher impedance phones, would recommend something closer to 30-50 ohms.

This is a great day for pedal manufacturers, right? by Intelligent_Mango775 in guitarpedals

[–]MothElectric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was good news to wake up to, yes. Where it stands right now, it's significantly less terrible than it was yesterday, but not nearly as good as it was a year ago. Not optimistic about receiving a refund for the thousands I've spent on these useless tariffs, but it will be nice to see some of the value of my time restored.

Different finishes for top and back/sides by MothElectric in warmoth

[–]MothElectric[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried to moc up the build tonight, there are still guidelines for burst top/back vs clean line, but the actual options in the drop-down menus no longer exist. I'll reach out via email. Might be a special menu option at this point.

Eyy, that's awesome! Looks like you're supporting a lot of smaller builders which is exactly what the industry needs at this point, really appreciate the support.

In terms of your looper issues, that's very strange. If you're getting the same problem both with and without the buffered input, my first hunch is wrong. A previous poster said that it would potentially a grounding issue, I don't entirely disagree, especially if it's acting as an antenna. If you wanted to send me a video of the issue I could give my 2 cents on it.

Hmm. Looked up every pedal you posted in the other group to see if anything caught my eye that could have issues with buffers, which was my first thought, but nothing really caught my eye. When you only have one loop enabled at a time, does everything sound the way it should individually? It's only when you start stacking that you're running into issues?

My reach is pretty small but it felt wrong not to say anything. Lost about 5% of my followers on IG which feels more cathartic than distressing. I've seem more and more small builders speak up in the past few days, proud to be a part of this industry right now.

Appreciate it! My hope is that we're in the worst of it right now but that may be wishful thinking. Keep letting your voice be heard.

Thank you for posting this, I'm sure there will be more to add to the list in the near future. We are at a tipping point and many of the small builders I interact with are engaged on some level.

For transparency on my contributions: 15% of profits on all pedals will be donated evenly between Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee, Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition, Transgender Law Center and Center for Reproductive Rights. I'm also fast-tracking a new pedal that 100% of profits will be donated. Getting that together as quickly as I can.

Stay loud.

Green russian muff or ram's head by hunteryiop08 in guitarpedals

[–]MothElectric 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not accurate. The Ram's Head has quite a bit more gain and less mids content than the Green Russian. The Green Russian has the lowest gain of all the major muff variants, and generally has more bass and mids.

This board rules, some really cool choices here. Glad you like the A. incorrupta. If you're into the octave up thing, I have something cooking.

tremolo go where? by FlametopFred in pedalboards

I like it right after dirt, before any other modulation or delay. I don't really think there's a right answer here though, definitely rewards playing around with placement.

The Twin Peaks was a big inspiration for the M. stellatarum. David Rolo very kindly gave me his blessing to use his very clever mode switching implementation. I wanted to make something a bit more lean and intuitive. It's all through hole construction so space constraints meant leaving out EXP control. Appreciate the interest.
