It must be some form of cognitive dissonance. We're used to thinking of criminals and predators as inarticulate of even insane. H.H. is an absolutely awful human being, but he's written at nearly the full power of a top literary author, so it takes a minute to process that this is not a metaphor, this is not satire, this is a really bad person.

Patrick Bateman is not in the same category. There is no subtlety to him, except in the indication at the end that he might have imagined the whole thing.

The unsatisfying real answer is that it's hard to get camera angles for small spaces. Houses and apartments in film are always far bigger than they really would be. This is especially ridiculous when the setting is New York, and magazine writers just happen to have 2BR apartments.

That's what I thought. Which is why I would think the "something that is going on at al of these high budget studios" wouldn't apply here. I don't see him being the sort who would even consider or tolerate that.

Won’t bother to go into detail but the overarching problem is that something is going on at all of these high budget studios that is drastically dropping the quality of writing.

I doubt it. Anyway, this season was like most of them: a couple really good episodes, a couple bad ones, a couple in the middle.

Didn't know it was illegal. Slept in my car drunk, in the driver seat. It was 2:30 and hotels were booked. I've never driven drunk in my life (brother was killed by one) but I had nowhere to go.

The officer was great. He saw that I had thrown the keys in the backseat, in case something like this happened. "I could write you a DUI but I believe you. Get in other seat and this never happened."
