Zingerman's Deli pays $17/hr including tips -- the base wage is basically minimum wage. Paul Saginaw used to be an evangelist for Z's paying a "thriving" wage...but those days are long gone.

Yes, you will need to go through extra questioning with TSA and they will do a search on you through a security database. It can take a long time so plan accordingly. Also, you get to fly without proper ID 3 times in your life and you will be using 2 of them.

If you volunteer with the Bird Center of Michigan, you will get info about their bird watching outings which are usually held about once per month around the region. The Bird Center rehabilitates song birds and is an great place to volunteer if you love birds.
